this isn't that bad! The scrolling animations doesn't seem to move at 60 fps, but its really not that bad spewed wise. In fact I would say its actually pretty fast in overall system speed! I couldn't help myself during the touchpad firesale... 299 for 16 and 399 for 32!

Overclock it to 1.5ghz. Blazing fast.

what is the TP capable of doing? does it have any good RSS news feed readers? open-format ebook reader? good document reader/editor? any decent games besides angry birds?

playbook and touchpad tout their UI and multi-tasking abilities... but where are the apps that make multi-tasking necessary?

That's a great price, I actually kinda like the way they look, hope WebOS gets a toehold in the market and it gets some developers.

It would be awesome if they would license the OS to other manufacturers, for the good of the platform, they should give it away for a year...

Well they have some of the same apps those platforms have, but the marketplace is nowhere near as large as iOS or Android.

The major bonus is the OS itself is significantly better.

I've heard people turn these two patches off now with the latest official patch. They said it's actually smoother/faster without them. I do still believe people use the logging patches, though.

I've used it over the weekend. I usually use my phone when surfing around my house which usually kills the battery. Working pretty good so far. I was thinking maybe I should of kept the Veer now for the touch to share, but the lack of headphone jack and horrible camera really couldn't do it me.

flash performance is still pretty garbage though... It's still chugging every now and then, even though I did a speedtest on it getting 30Mbps, 16Mbps on my internet connection.

I'm gonna turn those 2 patches off... you figure they get the scrolling smooth by 1.7GHz....

'Porting' android to a new device is almost as simple as just grabbing all the right packages and putting them together.

And you sound like an old foggy, high school kids are immersed in tech, they probably know more about it than you do..
