I wish they had a shot for the common cold. I don't care about the flu, the odds of getting it are slim, and even if I do, it only lasts like a day. I caught another stupid cold, these tend to drag on for weeks or even months. Rather have the flu than a cold.

They call it the 24 hour flu for a reason. It generally last's 24 hours.
They don't call influenza the "24 hour flu". Symptoms generally last from 4-7 days if you have the flue.
All the times I've gotten the flu or seen someone have it, they were only out for a day, maybe 2 at most. Usually take a day off work to rest. I got the flu a couple times and typically I'd only miss 2 days of work. Rather go through that and be up and running 100% within 2 days at most, than have a cold that keeps dragging on forever.
The flue is a whole other story. If you don't contain that properly you can even die of CO poisoning.

After 2-3 days your fever begins to break and you start to recover. After about 4-5 days you start feeling like your old self again.
