That's amazingly vindictive.
Yes it was...kind of reminds me of what happened during the last government shutdown given all the public sites, monuments, war memorials that were kept open during prior shutdowns.

I do have to admire the moon sized brass balls it takes to call up Cuomo and bitch him out that the Executive Director of the PA (who Cuomo appointed) is causing trouble by reversing the closure and asking who/why this was done.

He is a man of bold action.

You'd only be reminded of it this way if you were a drooling retard.

A Red Herring is a fallacy in which an irrelevant topic is presented in order to divert attention from the original issue.

Isn't that what is going on here? Distraction form Benghazi, IRS, Obamacare, Fast & Furious, NSA, Etc, Etc.....

If you guys want to accuse the right of blowing things out of proportion or faux scandals, you guy should come up with something better than closing lanes on a bridge.

Personal insults won't get you anything except a false sense of intellectual superiority and the disrespect from those here who actually have some modicum of intelligence.

I'm from New York liked, Christie until today.

While a certain level of cronyism and petty political BS is to be expected this is a sign that he has no place running a country.
Messing with commerce in this area has HUGE financial impact.
The judgement calls made here indicate the people involved need to get out of government and the person who appointed them has no business making political appointments.

This area involves the few states that contribute more money to fed than we receive, hence we are subsidizing most of the country.

I have to say that while the bridge closing is a pretty small thing in a policy sense it is remarkably childish and petty.

I mean it isn't like I would vote for the guy anyway, but if you're going to run for president you need to act more like it.

No, you're trying to change the subject.

While admittedly a fairly unimportant incident to most of the country there is going to be a lot of scrutiny on the local level. You do not fuck with the commute in this part of the world just because you feel like it, leave a trail of easily followed communications that lead back to your office, and then proceed to lie about it.

Well well well, looks like I was wrong about Christie. He looks less like a RINO and more like a classic pub now. Appears the Dems were right about him and not being paranoid at all.

Pretty damning stuff. I think it's safe to say I've lost what respect I had for the guy. Rough luck GOTP, even your less crazy members exemplify cronyism and corrupt governance! Damn.

When I posted that the accusation was pure speculation. lol

Here's a hint: If there's a story about a Republican doing bad things to innocent people with a malicious intent, you don't bet against the story. I think even Richard Nixon was able to eke out a smile from his grave.

When you actually use resources to barricade and close facilities that take next to no resources to keep open, you are trying to cause the exact same pain the left is getting enraged about here.

Did you read the article?

LOL, you can spy on my every move, cost me more money than you promised to save me, lie to me about keeping my insurance and doctor, lie about never raising my taxes, waste trillions of taxpayer dollars and even kill my fellow Americans with drones, but don't you dare fuck with my drive to work. I have to draw the line somewhere.

Does this kind of rationale apply to Democrats as well? Or is that somehow different?

I don't know what to tell you, the reason why people like Christie appeal to the GOP in general is because he's a tremendous asshole who tries his best to fuck over common people (see: NJ teachers, people in unions, etc), although embracing Obama during Hurricane Sandy probably put a dent in that somewhat. I'm not quite sure what the GOP has to do to drill it into your head, but when the George Bushes or Mitt Romneys of America tell you they only give a shit about a small segment of the country, they're not mincing words.

Would any of that have prevented ambulances from getting to hospitals, police getting to crime scenes?

You can start by answering the question.

Oh right - yeah i'm sure there are idiot asshole blue dog democrats who have that world view, but lets be honest here, they really should change their affiliation to Republican. The point is that the GOP's overarching philosophy is 'Fuck you, got mine', any Republican with good intentions for this country died when the moderate/liberal Rockefeller Republicans were kicked out of the party.

If you want to talk about those things I suggest you dig up the relevant threads....though I suspect you just want to whip up some partisan foam. Anyway none of that has to do with this.

It's the "crazy" ones who believe government serves the people, who would keep it small and restrained. Our moderates believe people serve the government, and favor its ever expanding largess.

It is precisely from the big-gov Neocons that cronyism and corrupt governance would spring.
