Seized Property Auctions Of the US department of the Treasury.

No this isnt one of thoes pay to get the links kind of deals. Found the actual site from the US government with actuall listings of where they are holding thier auctions. You may be able to find that super hot deal on that laptop you been wanting or the RV you been waiting to get oyur hands on. Hell how about a BMW or Porsche SUV. they have the both going at auction in AZ

If this link floats your boats I found others for properties and police auctions and one police auction is a online kinda like ebay. If you all want it I will link it with this one too

OKOK everyone the following auctions are police auctions for certin cities (Chicago and IL since thats where I used to live). There are some here that are nation wide for property, homes, cars, and land. Just want you to also know the following are all sites that you would of had to pay for if you saw the ads on tv or in the paper. I am giving them out for free for the hell of it and because I can unless the MODS see something wrong with it and if so this thread will then be closed I guess. But till then check them out and see what great deals you may be able to get.

If you have never been to a auction I feel everyone should do it atleast once. I been to a few general ones when I was a kid, then several dealer only auto ones (father owned a car lot till he died) and then a few puplic auto auctions with some friends. They are alot of fun and on the other hand can be quite overwhelming. They move at a super fast pace (if you go to one in person) and at times is very hard to understand the auctioneer if you never heard one of thoes guys scream gibberish at you. But all in all if you never been it is a hell of an experance and should go to one if local. Other then that here are the links:

Property room police auction
this one is on line bidding kinda ebay like.

Bid4assets
Non Government run ebay like with government goodies

FirstGov
Government auctions

United States Department of the Treasury
All government auctions. I actully almost bought a house I saw off the site. Had it all set up till I found this one that is much bigger here in TN for the same money. Great site if looking for homes. Most come with home reports and pictures and detailed stuff about the home from top to bottom. This will have hud and FHA homes in EVERY state listed for thoes looking for a home on the super cheap side

Chicago Police Auctions
All the goodies the Chicago police took in are for sale here. Great if you live in IL not so great if you dont. I almost went to one but moved out of there asap once I got some money and found the house we moved into now.

IL. Auction.
Pretty much have everything from cars, trucks, farm equipment, to tools and trailers.

Well there you go. Every auction I know of. ENJOY and tell your stories and what you bought, please, if you go to one!!!!

I've been to a few gov auctions, and I now have a general auction rule, don't waste my time on anything during the weekend. Weekday auctions, like Tuesday morning at 10am til 3 pm, are 90% dealers who know values pretty well and 10% end users who don't seem to have a clue, but run out of money before ruining too many good deals. Saturday morning, just turn that around, mostly end users, so lots of used unknown condition strictly ASIS items sell for more than they do at Frys brand new, plus the winner has a buyers premium on top of the bid.

Many lots are grouped such that ONLY a dealer can handle them, 200 cases of scotch and 200 cases of canned rat meat.

When single items are offered from a larger lot, typically the single item is offered for bid, winner gets the first item, but instead of bidding on a second one, anybody that wants a single item can buy at the first items winning bid price. Once all the single items bids are done, larger lots are offered for bid.

Sometimes you do get lucky. Just don't forget you gamble twice at an auction, once for the bid, and later for the actual condition of the item. Classic case, a set of recent very expensive high end graphics software goes for $2000, and shabby old desk and contents $100. Software boxes were just the manuals, all the CDs and keys were in the desk.

Very few of the nicer cars are sold at absolute auctions, the bank or other lienholder has to approve all final bids, basically they offer the car to dealers and any that outbid you get it instead of you. Also it isn't unusual for auction cars to have really odd problems, or missing parts.

I can't wait to go again.

Buying siezed property IS NOT HOT AT ALL. I remember right before Y2K a mexican man was shot by ATF agents. The house that he bought was used as a drug house by a previous owner, as a result they have the right to ENTER YOUR PREMISES ANYTIME WITHOUT A WARRENT. This man thought they were robbers, and he had put his entire life savings under his bed for fear of Y2K wiping it out. The agents shot the man thinking he was reaching for a weapon. Make all the jokes you want, it's still a very sad story.
