They should make her work for free for 12 years and call it "even". It's a pretty good indicator of the entitlement mentality in society that she not only thinks it's OK to steal taxpayer money for 12 years, she feels she is wronged when the taxpayers stop sending her checks for doing absolutely nothing. Disgusting. I'd say she's prime Democrat congressional rep material.

I think there is more to this story than simple government incompetence. I think some sort of blackmail or other illicit activities were taking place.

She learned from the resident P&N experts that any money she earned wasn't really hers anyway, so why should she work for it? She also learned that she has a right to have the government provide for her each and every need, so she is right to sue if it fails in meeting that obligation.

Hopefully she learned you are a sad and bitter troll.

I agree that it's ridiculous that she was collecting for that long of a period, but could it have been because of this:

For reasons that remain unclear, the agency's director, George Pratt, never resolved McGlone's suspension by either firing her or putting her back to work. She was paid an estimated $320,000 before Womack, Pratt's replacement, found out and fired her around May 2010.

She was suspended, then never officially fired or removed from suspension. Yeah, she could have said something, but the city obviously did a piss poor job with their records management.

Sounds like more than incompetence here. I'm betting she had a friend or two on the inside or was kicking money back to someone.

Yes, I'm sad and bitter as I sit at my kitchen table sipping coffee, posting here, and collecting a government paycheck. I'm reaping the rewards of your stupidity. Thanks. :beer;

Seems more like a bunch of pencil pushing lazy assholes weren't doing their job. Probably too busy complaing on Internet forums about lazy Union members

Seeing as they are probably union themselves, it would be pretty ironic, wouldn't it.

Will this set a precedent that congressmen will have to show up? Does it mean no more "consultant" fees without proof of actually doing something?

lol @ Milton.

I guess she was used to getting an extra 30k per year for not doing anything...

Would it be racist if somebody speculated as to what her race was?

No because I could see it being any race, but would it be bad if I speculated she was fat?

Alternatively, her suspension could have been entirely improper. Letting her come back to work would have opened them up to punitive damages, and firing her would have done the same. So they just elected to leave it in limbo, keep paying her to keep her quiet.

None of us really knows what happened, so it's all just speculation, complete with a lot of moralistic posturing and false attribution from the usual suspects.

Why am i not surprised? They got their daily fix of outrage, something to keep them irrational with their panties in a knot, and that's all that matters, right?

Yes, you're right: the best thing to do is sweep any potentially damaging crap under the rug. Your government apologetics are absolutely amazing - you really believe that government can do no wrong.
