probably whats going on is that the Government (UK in this case) is making changes without bothering to ask the Doctors. Forcing hospitals to reduce staffing to keep spiraling "government supplied healthcare" within the costs promised long ago.

First comes government involvement, then comes government takeover, then comes government rationing.

Some areas of the country have no OB/GYN doctors to deliver babies.

Florida is already a state without enough obstetrician/gynecologists to meet the needs of patients. Sad thing is alot of doctors are against Universal Healthcare.

As I mentioned in the other thread, we aren't necessarily against universal healthcare. We are against a thoughtless, heartless system of universal care run by bureaucrats. While it's arguable that the current system run by thoughtless, heartless corporations may be worse . . . the truth is that if you have a lot of money (or better yet a lot of money AND good insurance) the current system works well. Unfortunately, it's only a matter of time before the healthcare system collapses. And that's a totally separate debacle from the collapse of the financing regime.

Edit for a common misperception: You really have to distinguish universal systems of healthcare from universal systems of healthcare financing (aka insurance).
