They added into the meal plan that the school enforces so that technically, it can be covered by financial aid.

The trick is though, you have to spend it or be out of 660 buckaroos because the funds expire.

I never went to a school with meal plans but on campus food is horrendously bad for you. Mr. Sub was always the healthiest option. Alternatives were Tim Hortons', burgers, pizza, or the slop the cafeteria served.

Campus food is hit or miss.
I went to Northern Ill university (in dekalb IL) and the food sucked ass. it was terrible. there was a even a few times i got sick.

i transferred to Rochester Institute of Technology and i gotta say the food was great. with NIU you could only eat in the dorm cafetiere at certain hours. At RIT you could go to a few diffrent places to eat and they were all great.

we just sent the oldest to UofI and they have a great setup too. you can eat anywhere and she says its great

not me. i can make better food. only good part was the portions. but even then i don't eat as much as i did in college.

Sodexo food is gross and overpriced. Eurest is good stuff though.

If you stop paying your taxes they will stop doing stupid shit because they won't afford it. I really wish I could convince the majority of Americans to stop paying their Federal Taxes and focus solely on their local and state governments. We'd probably get back to some sense.

When I was at Guelph, the food at the main cafeteria and a few others was actually REALLY good. I'm pretty sure it was rated best campus food in canada at one point.

Meh, this just makes me think the government should be spending money more wisely. If they insist on giving it to college students for food, at least make it be for groceries or something else more worthwhile than fast food.. Better is probably just to skip unnecessary subsidies..

Towards the end of the semester I realized I still had a hundred bucks left on the plan. So I just ordered a dozen pizzas for the hall.

It's not optional and it's subsidized, at least for me, because it goes into Financial aid.
