Every single one of the cards is gone. Thats how it works. They just reused cards of the same color but different suit.

(They removed ALL the previously shown cards. They just change the suits of each card so none of them appear at the end.)

they not only replace the original cards with the opposite suit of the same color (8 of diamonds replaced with 8 of hearts, etc), but they remove a card too; for me they didn't put a red eight out the second time around.

Ummm...are you serious? None of the cards from the original list are in the second list...so naturally it was able to "remove it". What would be impressive is if it showed you the card that you've picked.
