wow, the 360 is that bad at overheating? another win for the pc seeing as i can leave mine on running prime95 for a week if i want to...
i was thinking of picking one of the 360s up instead of buying a hd-dvd player since the price is pretty = and i can game some console type games like the sports or racing, anybody know how it handles movies - like heat which is 2:50?

That's absolutely ridiculous. My friends and I have played Halo on the original Xbox straight through the campaign many times. There's no reasons to have to 'limit' your time on the console because of poor engineering.
That's like buying an exotic car and then finding out you can only drive it 2 miles at a time between breaks. What a waste!

Well if you think about they are basically trying to pack high-end PCs into rinky-dink little boxes. PC cases and airflow FTW!
Ha, sorry but you're wrong. My XBOX and PS2 have mange to fubar up the discs in a weird way. The discs look like some one washed it with 'hard water' and forgot to dry it, leaving spots with a washed look. Either way, it has basically screwed up the look of the discs, they can be read but at the same time, this is something that SHOULDN'T be happening.Originally posted by: jamesbond007

Rewind to 5 years ago and overheating issues, scratching discs, and sporadic lockups of the gaming console were non-issue. In fact, those were the selling points of consoles when compared to PC gaming at times. (AMD 1.4GHz anyone? AKA the space heater) Remember the comments like, "I like to put in a game and play it. No installation, no hassles. Just pure fun." Whatever happened to those days? Seems like we all need to do a bit of Voodoo to get the damn next-gen consoles to work.

How long did you play it?
Playing it for 4 hours + straight isnt healthy... for you or the system

That sucks, mine has been playing GoW for six hours straight with no issues. Are your Xbox360 and power brick well ventilated?

This has always been true, but the laws of physics are making it a bit more tricky to pack the punch into such a tiny box these days and manufacturers are not doing their job to ensure 100% stability and reliability out of the box. (on that note, are there any reported problems with the Wii or PS3?)
