No offense, but if you were a point or so away from passing English, why would you want to major in it? Performance is a good indicator of your actual interest. This is according to their records...I would assume that your memory of the grades is kind of irrelevent. If you were doing poorly in the classes at the time, you should have some indication of how well you're doing outside of grades on paper or memory of those grades.
Either way...was it time issues, lack of interest? To get those grades up you're going to have to devote more time than may be acceptable to you atm. Just an FYI, and again, not intended to criticize. Remember; college ain't for everyone (although it's becoming more and more necessary in the climate we live in...).
Of course those classes will affect your GPA if you decide to transfer them. Nothing stupid about it....what, you think a few years departure from them is enough to convince the college board that you are somehow smarter withought any tangible proof? Take them over. No reason not too if you're serious about getting back into it. Those grades show the enrollment board that at one time you had no desire/interest being in school. No reason as of yet for them to think youir attitude has changed. Take them over and prove that you're serious about it.
you must have reading comprehension problems...i've said several times in this thread that English is my strong point in school.
This was 9 years ago. I have trouble remembering what I had for dinner the past few days, let alone some classes i had no interest in being in at the time. at the time, i really did not want to be in school. i don't like school. i wanted to get a quick education and start working then.
now things have changed a little. i still hate school but i know i need to get out of my current situation.
i remember doing well on assignments the prof. gave out, thats why i was so confused when i saw the D. the only excuse i can think of was that they mixed up the grades or i stopped going to the english class as well as the other 2 classes.

don't they kick you out if you fall below a 2?

No, I would have been on academic probation if i stayed any longer.

Uh, according to your English grade, I highly doubt you have any ground to be claiming this
Also, I crafted that response when there were no posts. I posted, there were several new responses already, so I didn't read your responses (none of them, btw, supporting your notion that the D- is illegitimate.) You expressed doubts yourself about your own memory of that grade, so where do you get off taking some non-critical advice as an attack?
Get over yourself, and take responsibility for your actions. You should be happy that this thread went two pages without some pretty strong attacks. As much as you criticze these forums, you have to admit it's pretty ballsy to post such piss-poor grades, and essentially cast-off any personal responsibility for those grades (I.E., I know I'm good at English, therefore my professor was in teh wrong for giving me a D-)
anyway, as you said (which is exactly what I said earlier), the poor grade is most likely a result (based on your memory of attendance) of not turning in assignments....So, why get pissed about a poor grade, assume that it's the result of you not turning in assignments, then pass it off as innacurate or unfair? How else do you expect your abilities to be rated? Again, if you stopped showing up and turning in assignments, consider the D- lucky. Maybe the professor thought you were better; but without turning in your work, there's nothing else to go on...
Hey, I can understand not being ready to go through school and wanting to take a break. The good thing is that you realized it. Most people put themselves through hell for no reason, and come out no better for it. Just make sure you come back with a refreshed attitude, and be prepared to work your ass off is it's what you really want to do.

If you have another community college in your area, then go to that one. Grades should be independent at each school

When I was in College one of my Math Professor said that he curves every Class with a linear function. Where y= Curved grade and x = none Curved grade. His linear function was y=x.

where the fvck do you guys come from or who taught you to read?
it was 9 years ago and at a time when i really wanted nothing to do with school as i had just graduated HS. my memory isn't very good to begin with...i don't know why i have to keep explaining this.
i do remember doing some english assignments and getting good grades on them. I jsut don't remember if i finished the class. I must not have if I got a D, uunless the school mixed that grade up with my math grade. I don't remember anything about that class either.

exactly, if you can't remember these points...then I don't know what you're trying to accomplish here. 9 years is not that long ago
First off, in response to your replies to my post: is it your intent to be an ass to everyone who tries to give you advice? seriously, why do you think the world is out to get you? I'm offereing some honest suggestions. maybe I'm a bit direct, but I'm trying to gauge how serious you are.
You act like a child. Therefore, I can only assume that you will fail again. Honestly, I hope you don't fail...but with the attitude you repeatedly display towards people offering you honest advice in your threads, I can't see how you will succeed in a funcitoning society. Seriously.
You ask how I would assume you aren't taking responsibility for your grades?
1) you mention that the class must have switched your Math and English grades, b/c you feel that you are better at English (seemingly oblivious to the fact that you are graded on completed and submitted assignemtns, and not how a professor telepathically gauges your abilities)
2) you then mention that it is possible that you didn't attend the English class, and one would assume from that, did not turn in assignments. Fari enough
3) However, you reiterate in a later post and again in this one quoted, that you feel the grades are possibly switched. .... ... . .....WTF?
You see...you're passively denying responsibility. You display an attitude that it is unfair that you received one of these grades, when you know that you are better than a D-; yet still admit to not attending the class (most likely)
Since you seem to have a tenuous grasp on the reasons for your earlier failure, what makes you think you have the attitude to do it successfully a second time?
Again...I HOPE you go back, and HOPE that you are prepared to succeed, and I honestly HOPE that you do succeed. First thing though, is you need to handle advice in an appropriate, mature manner. You constantly misinterpret people in these forums, and it reflects an issue that you may have in dealing with people on an academic level.
again, you don't get a B for doing a few decent assignments and ignoring the final 60% of them. You get a D. (you should get an F for that) Schools don't mix up grades. It's a silly excuse, and you're in some kind of denial.
Get over it, and start taking yourself seriously. Get back in school if that's what you feel is right for you. But don't waste your time and money if it isn't.
You can call this tough love if you want. But I'm sick of you misinterpreting every damn thing I say.
EDIT: Oh, and if you can't handle criticism...then school is not the right place for you.

i'm not misinterpreting anything, you are. i take advice just fine when people can actually read what i type and understand it and give advice accordingly.
i'm done responding to people who only read or reply to 1/3 of my posts

Are you too busy at WoW to read a book, get outside and socialize? Seriously...wtf is up with you?

where does my comprehension blow? i'm telling you several things but you only read 1 of them and respond to it, totally ignoring everything else.
you are not being nice. if thats being nice, i'd hate to see what your definition of being mean is. I have no impression that the world is out to get me, only a few morons on this forum who obviously can't read.
a) i don't play WoW.
b) i am constantly reading books. I just started a new one the other day and I have probably over 30 waiting to be read after that one.
c) wtf is up you? you need to come into a thread and put people down for no reason? what the fvck have i ever done to you? really, how should i respond to someone who makes up stuff and then attacks someone based on the made up stuff?
i think the term straw man might apply here.

go back to my first post (read more than one line; which is what you are doing; unless you simply don't understand what I'm saying)
I wasn't insulting you, just pointing out the perspective of the registrar, the school, and the professors'. I merely gave advice in terms of how you will have to approach a renewed effort to succeeding in school. Again, I commend it.
If at any point I became direct, or personally insulting in your estimation, it was in response to your misunderstanding of my advice.
Take a poll if you wish. I feel that I'm on the side of reality, and simply pointing out the attitude you need to assume if you want to succeed. Tough ****** if you don't have the stomach to take yourself seriously.
WoW comment was an homage to your Ebay thread. I think ATOT had you pegged as a WoWer after that. If it offends, I gracefully apologize.
