Any guesses as to how the whole gphone thing is going to play out when it happens? I'm sure they won't be going with ATT because of the iPhone and direct competition, but if they want to go into the global market they'll have to stick with GSM. That only leaves T-Mobile for us U.S. customers...

There is supposedly no gPhone planned. The gPhone rumors appear to be replaced by Google's "Android" software. The plan seems to be that Google will release a mobile phone OS and apps to other companies working under an Open Source style system to create a whole bunch of phones running Google apps. I posted up what the software development prototype looks like in another post in this forum.

So you may get your wish - there's likely to be versions from multiple manufacturers that can run on all of the major carriers in the US.

I'd attach a bunch of links but I'm writing this on my iPhone and it's neat gizmo but it doesn't do cut and paste so links are hard to do.

Aww, sad. I was hoping for a Google product, but I can settle for a software package.
