FYI - This is a standalone unit and does not use a PDA.

you can use it on the ipaq if you get the serial cable for the 310 AND the serial cable for the ipaq.
the 310 used to have a coupon for a free data cable but I don't know if it's expired anymore (it's in the box.)

Got one this morning. Good deal, regular price for this thing on the net is $99. Tried it out for a little while and everything looks good. Its small & lightweight, uses only 2 AA batteries, and waterproof. The box has a sticker that says "FREE DATA CABLE". Inside of the box is a form for the free serial cable and there is no expiration date. Cable isn't actually free since you have to pay a $5 shipping charge.

that sucks i might buy it (its out of stock at the store near me, but there are other ones. does this include any software to use it with? and if not, how expesnive is software that it works with? also, how much does it weigh and is it bulky?

There is a better on in CompUSA, GPS map 330x. It is on sale at $129. There is a $50 MIR on Magellan's website, though it is not confirmed yet whether Compusa is participating retailer. If the MIR goes through, then 330x cost $129-$50 = $79 + tax. that is a much better buy than the 310. I have both units and 330x is definitely the one to go with.

Only 950? I wanted to track my speed when I'm on the Concord.... (hehehhe....J/K of course)

I was going to go for the 330x model for $80 w/rebate, but it was out of stock in Hawaii. Clerk said it was a discontinued model and they aren't going to receive anymore. The 330X is a better model, supposed to sell for about $200. I think the only difference is that you can download some mapping information to it and it can store more waypoints than the 310 model.

I got the 310 for $50 and I am satisfied.

Kirkland, Wa store has 2 left (I put one on hold for me.......).

They said price was about $170......but I'll just see what it rings up at.

Where did you find it [Store/City/State]? I called every CompUSA in Central NJ earlier today, and everyone said they were out of both the 310 and the 330X (said they went on sale Sunday and went fast).

Last month I tried Staples, but they blew them out in December.
