GPU for 200€ max. for this config?

Hi, I have recently updated my pc and now I got an i5-3330 @ 3,4ghz, 8gbs DDR3, 5850 Xtreme, Gigabyte GA-Z77-DS3H and an Cooler Masters e600 PSU... I was thinking to buy this gpu:

But I don't know if it'll be enough to get 60 fps in games like The Witcher 3, Fallout 4, GTA V, etc... with high-very high-ultra settings... Im playing at 1366x768 res. but in the future I will try with 1080... what do you guys think?

Considering a 2gb 380 at your store is 230$, I would get that 4gb gtx960 for 199..

Yeah, R9 380 4gbs here costs 230€ so.. anyway I dont know if my PSU would be enough for the 380. And 380 4gbs its just a 10% faster than 960 4gbs, right? and 960 can be oced much more than 380, right?

For 1080p, everything maxed out, you won't get 60 fps locked in any of those 3 games. Your CPU is also a bottleneck.

GTA V is less demanding on averages but is still demanding on minimums

Ya so at 1080P, everything maxed out, a 960/380 won't hit 60 fps at 1080p in those games but Medium/High/VH combinations still look great from the top settings.

Given the prices from that store, it seems 960 4GB is the only option for you and is a good fit for 1366x768 resolution. The unfortunate part is your upgrade timing is all off. 960 costs almost as much as it did 12 months ago so you are essentially buying old tech at close to its launch prices.

Your PSU would be able to handle cards like R9 390 and 970 but it's not really relevant given your budget.

My 4gb gtx960 overclocked plays my games @ 1080p with high settings just fine.

@720p you should max most games.

An OC'd 380 will still beat an OC'd 960 unless the 380 isn't overvolted. That said, the price difference may not be worth it in this case.

Ah Euro; depends on where you buy from are in Europe are you? I can see if I can find anything better; UK slightly better as prices don't flux as much as they do depending on which country you are in the EU

Honestly 380 is better overall card over 960; but at 720p not sure it make huge difference.

have you checked pcpartpicker? I'd check a few different sites for the best prices and then go from there. 4 gig card far better than 2 gig card these days......

Another vote for the 960 4GB for 200€, it's by far the best value in that shop list.

You won't get consistent 60 fps on ultra settings unless you spend more, but 60 fps on 1080p high settings should be doable with both 960 4GB and 380 4GB, so go for the cheaper one.

I just saw come vids on YT of games like The Witcher 3 with a 960 4GBs maxed out at 1080 (except hairworks and one or two more options) and it reached 60fps easily... how is that possible anyway? Im confused

Your cpu should be good enough for the 960.

Some settings (like hairworks) need a lot of extra power, if you can live without them then a 960 is totally fine for these games. Also, depends on where you record, there are areas that will likely still dip below 50fps.

My gtx960 when overclocked uses less power, runs cooler and is just as fast or faster then any 380, overclocked or not.

Some guys will use bias benchmarks that heavily favor the 380 and say the 380 is faster but its not. A 380 will still only overclock about 10% on average, while just about all 960's will overclock over 25%.

the 960 4gb overclocked is not a bad card at all.

When both are overclocked, they trade blows depending on the game. Someone here his going to try to prove otherwise and say that it's a landslide victory for the 960, but remember to do your own research so you can look into the games that you play and because most people here are biased.

That said, it's not worth paying more for the 380, and it's not worth getting a used one just to make the price competitive. However, getting an aftermarket 390 would be a good idea. Don't worry about temps; just avoid Asus and you're be fine. Someone here will call it a space heater, but, again, he's biased. It'll dump more heat into the case, but it won't turn your room into a sauna or anything even remotely like that.

For the price and the games you want to play I will have to agree that for 199 Euro the GTX 960 4GB looks fine.

If you can find a used R9 290 or GTX 970 at the same price then its should be even better.

Some games may not run at a steady 60 fps at maximum settings, even at your current 1366x768 resolution. More so when you will upgrade to a 1920x1080 monitor. But you can not get for instance a R9 390 or a GTX 980 Ti for 200 EUR, so this is somewhat irrelevant.

Turning off or low AA filters you will be able to play those games even at Ultra settings at 720p to 900p. But you will have to play with the settings to find the balance between best Image Quality with the best AA mode. Because at those low resolutions you may need to use higher AA filters than what you would need at 1080p.

Uhm... well I dont really need to run all the games on ultra settings, I would like to run them on high with some details on medium but the thing is im a little bit paranoic with the 60fps so I would like to not have drop fps..
