This PC will be placed in the living room of our cottage. It is meant to be used by everyone. So things for web browsing, video streaming, Ms Office and mid gaming (e.g. Strategic games, Fortnite).
It is possible you are the greatest lurker of all time. This is good advice too. Though I'd avoid Intel UHD iGPU for anything resembling a modern gaming system, and build a Ryzen 5600G PC. Amazon U.S. has it for about $116 after 10% cash back.
If looking to add a dGPU to an existing system, the question is then new v. used. If going new, rx6400 and GTX1650 are $140-$160. If buying used, there are a bunch of choices around $100-$150. A used 1650 super or RX5500 4GB can be found in that price range and much less likely to have been mined on than cards with more ram.
Depending on what specific titles we're talking about, you may want to consider a 6600non-XT. Even strategy games have become fairly heavy lately. It's also fairly power efficient, and has an excellent media engine.
If it's just legacy titles, a 5600G-5700G will do fine. I'm actually surprised what my 5700G runs fine.
Fortnite can wreck your IGPU, even on a Ryzen G series.
RTS games are a mix depending on the game.
I would honestly even recommend a RX6500XT even tho i consider that a pile of dung as a gpu, over a IGP, and will only cost 159.00 YMMV on amazon or newegg, and handle what your probably asking for gloriously.
