Question GPU Recommendation for 2020 build?

Hi All,

I built this PC during the pandemic (may 2020) and the only part I did not purchase at the time was a GPU since they were incredibly hard to get I just re-used my old GTX 970 for the short term. My pc gaming hobby subsided and I never ended up upgrading that GPU.

Well recently the PC has stopped working and I can see the VGA light on the mobo debug panel is red. The GPU is so old I think its a pretty safe bet that it has died and I am looking for a replacement.

I don't do much PC gaming these days although I would like to play the Hades 2 early access. Otherwise I use my PC for media streaming. However, I would like the option to play games so I am looking to spend $300-400 to buy a GPU that will perform consistent with the other parts in my PC and also be compatible with my setup:

In the U.S., the XFX Radeon RX 6800 makes a lot of sense in your price range. Some options are mentioned here:

What's your res- 1080p or 1440p?

1. Nvidia 4060 Ti is $419 on Amazon now as well. Nvidia offers better ray tracing & DLSS than AMD products.
2. AMD RX6800 is $360 on Amazon. It's faster than Nvidia but the features aren't as good. But it handily beats 4060 Ti for less price.

In your lower-mid range config, RX6800 seems to the perfect GPU for you as it beats 4060 Ti half way into reaching 4070.

Definitely RX6800. You can even play modern titles like Elden Ring, Overwatch 2, Counterstrike, etc.
