Media and Communication Technology. Pretty much a BS major. However, because Michigan State is such a prestigious school, I was able to use that degree to break into Networking IT and ended up with some pretty sweet connections and internship experience....

So, I guess the degree wasn't really BS. I wish they had a better IT program, but, it is what it is.

Good point. I know some douche that been to a good school and bragged about it. He died in an accident years ago. Nobody even talks about him anymore and he is almost gone from memory for the most part.

In the end, make the best of any situation and when you die what does it really matter anyway.

That doesnt make sense. Employers are looking to hire in the next few months, not a year or two down the line.

You might be surprised about that actually. I will graduate this coming May, but I got officially hired last June, almost a year before my graduation date.

That sounds awesome. Unfortunately, It wasn't an option available to me. Its okay though, some people have better opportunities and some have to try a little harder.

I'm just glad that I made connections while in College, I already know someone who has no clue what to do now that they graduated. No internships, and work experience unrelated to major (working in the cafeteria for 4 years)

I cried of joy when I graduated back in 2005. I had a job lined up at a company I still work at today. I still feel school was way harder (engineering major) than work is usually.

How did you guys feel? Graduation was awesome. I drove down to VA yesterday and it took forever. When I got here and unpacked, I realized that I'm really an adult now.

I have 3 job interviews this week. I'm happy and sad at the same time.

How did you guys feel?

Congratulations! Don't let any of these wankers rain on your parade.

It didn't mean much to me, but I went straight into continuing undergrad research into my grad program at the same college. If anything it was depressing knowing that a single LAN party was the full extent of my social activities in college and that it would be only downhill from there, but on the other hand it was nice knowing that I wouldn't have to deal with as many classes and could be a bit more independent.

Congrats btw.

Interesting. In the fields I'm familiar with there is a recruiting period from about October to March. If you don't have a job by March your senior year, you dun goofed. It's also the case that if you graduate without an internship or two, you dun goofed. Looks like you're in media/communication, which sounds like it works differently.

A lot of people leave college without a job. That doesn't mean they failed at anything.

Like I said, some people get lucky with the job opportunities. I want to be a Network Engineer, there aren't as many recruiters coming to College for that as there are recruiters for Engineering and other sciences.

My mom was crying so much, it was a bit embarrassing. lol A lot of parents were crying. I don't think I saw a single student crying.

You know, I remember I felt very empty. I cannot explain why, but it was feeling of emptiness inside.

I also felt a little empty...like I did not care. It may have been because I already had a job in the field and worked full time while I went to school.

I was so stressed out with finals and stuff that it didn't feel real. Final exams and projects were turned in on the Friday and then 2 days later on Sunday I was at graduation. It really didn't hit me until about the following Monday or Tuesday when I actually woke up and realized I had absolutely nothing to do.
