I'm still a sopho, so right now I don't meet the state requirements. I'm thinking about doing it my junior or mid senior year. By that time I'll meet the state requirements

What is the point? You don't impress anyone. Trust me. What would you do? Go go college as a 16 year old? And when all of them are out clubbing or socializing or drinking, you stay at home. And you think they'd want to hang out with you? You're smart. You could graduate early. Congrats. Seriously. But I don't see any benefit. Plus half of high school is the socializing and networking and friends. You want to give that all up?

Yeah..if you are really enjoying HS (which there is a good chance you are not) then don't go for it.

If I had the chance when I was in HS, I would have done it. My sister did it but just a couple of years after that they upped the requirements. All of my friends were older than me, and I had to watch them go off to college, and it sucked.

If the reason is to get started in college early, then I highly encourage it.

I graduated a year late (two years really, we in Ontario had a grade 13 in high school) and at 24 I already feel like I'm sort of behind. An extra year or two of industry experience would be invaluable and would have raised my earning power considerably. That is, of course, focusing entirely on the fiscal aspect of the situation.

Eh. Don't bother graduating early. Dual Enroll in college and have the state pay your bills. thats what I did. Got a whole year of college in.

I went half day, half year my Senior year. I'd get off school at 11:45 and hit the ski slopes. Worked for me.

i wouldn't go to college before 17. otherwise you're too young and wouldn't fit in.

Because being 18 will all of a sudden give you the maturity to fit in?

I think it really depends on the personality of the op. Some people may prefer to get most of their socialization through clubs or other things around campus. Tina may not like the clubbing scene so that wouldnt really affect her. I knew a 15 year old girl in one of my classes here and she didnt seem in anyway odd.

I wouldn't go to college early, because then you may not even have 1 full year of legal college drinking, depending on when your birthday is.

A friend of mine went to college with me when he was 16. He was somewhat immature and didn't really fit in well until later years.

I graduated very early and it was definitely worth my time. By the time I was 18, I'd collected enough community college credits to be a junior in college. That probably saved me 2-3 years worth of tuition at a major university, and I graduated with only 5k of debt.

Many of my friends who stayed in high school and did the socializing, networking and friends later wished they'd taken the early graduation route. Not everybody in college wants to go out clubbing or drinking. And graduating early doesn't mean that you have to go away to school and leave your high school friends either.

I feel like I got the best of both worlds - my high school friendships are still going strong, I got a great college education with half the time and less than half the cost of my friends, and I'm now 22, with three years of solid work experience behind me, money in the bank, and I'm not eagerly peering towards a graduation date because I'm tired of school.

No clubbing or drinking?

Thats no fun at all. College is probably the best time of your life. I don't really want it to end.
