I agree that hiding inventory is a completely different issue. Now, if they just have low stock when the sale starts there's nothing inherently wrong about it.

I picked one up this morning when CompUSA opened at 11am at Puente Hills... I headed over to the game section, and it was no where to be seen. I saw the SALE tag up on the glass cabinet that was advertising the GT4 for $37.99... I asked 2 guys from that department if they had GT4 and they both said, 'No we don't have it...' I knew they were BSing me because I checked online inventory and called in and said 'it's in stock'. I had to go to Customer Service to get someone to help me out. A nice young lady was nice enough to check the inventory on the computer and then grabbed the game out of the storage room somewhere...

Finally got the game and left... Thank goodness I wasn't in a hurry to buy it on the released date.

But I think this CompUSA is notorious for employees claiming stuff is 'Out of Stock' or refusing to check in storage. This is probably the 3rd time something like this happened. I think the manager is shady too, cuz my friend tried to buy 2 of those Maxtor Ultra16 250GB HD w/ 16MB buffer... Called in and checked online, both reported 'In-stock'... They went there and a manager said that they didn't have those, and also a shady tech that said they didn't have any either. They went to customer service to check, and behold the hard drives were actually in-stock, hiding somewhere in storage 4 of them. My friend gave the shady employees an evil look.

I think I might try to price match this at circut city, but does anyone know how far you would have to live from the compusa ?
Im about 45 minutes from the nearest compusa and i think I read somewhere that you have to be in a certain distance to be able to price match. Not sure what stores have this policy though. Also, can you take a copy of the internet ad to pricematch ? Thanks for any info on this.

PM to BB, use $5 off coupon found when you purchase a Gamer's GC. Similar to Wiznaz's deal at Sears with the PM and coupon.

49.99 - 13.20 (PM + 10% of PM) - 5.00 (coupon) = 31.79 + TAX

Out of stock at Compusa, but I grabbed a flyer and went across the street to Best Buy. Got the last copy and pricematched it. The cashier didn't call to check or anything. He didn't seem like the brightest bulb in the box, but whatever. $40.74 out the door.

Yeah I saw this earlier today, not very happy. I just bought it at GameStop for $50. Awesome deal though I would recomend the game to anyone who likes cars, sucks they cut out the online play though.

I couldn't find it on the shelves of the CompUSA I went to. I asked a clerk and he was trying to bull sXXX me about it being out of stock. So I went to customer service the nice guy there found the item number 316983 and they had 10 copies in stock. He gave some excuse about being afraid of ppl stealing the game for not putting it on the shelves, I guess puting the games in those big clear plastic boxes is not enough.

So the number you need is 316983. Give that to the checkout clerk and pay for it, then take the reciept to customer service and they'll bring out the game for you.

Just got in on this deal. I don't think I got 110% at best buy, but still a good deal at $40 + change after tax. So far the game has been pretty good too.

thanks. I took the CompUSA ad to BB and PMed no problem. This is perfect in Tustin, CA because the BB and CompUSA are right across the street from each other. Also, I saw an open box Pioneer 1014tx for $330 at the Best Buy.
