Are any of you interested in a Sunday evening/night racing league? I race in a league in Sunday now that is early eve and have plenty of time for a later race. This is mainly to check interest, if we can come up with enough people, I would handle all details and offer a new Ferrari F2010 car as a prize.

I'm thinking of a 6 race series, one each sunday, we would probably use your best 5 finishes for points. That way if you miss a race it won't hurt your chances at winning the series. We will probably run Super GT 300 cars. Those cars are fun to drive, not overpowering for us average drivers, and fairly close in performance since you can't do a bunch of weight saving and hp boosting mods. I'll work out details of rules and such if it turns out we can get enough people to make this work.

Post in this thread if you are interested and can commit to a race every Sunday night for 6 weeks. We need at least 10 people with up to 16.

I hope we can make this work, this is for the average guy, not the pro racers, we are just out to have fun with some clean racing without having to put up with the usual crap you get trying to find a good race online.

Im showing interest! Once final details come out i can fully commit or back out lol. Ill need to buy a Super GT 300 car but heck should be fun none the less

and a list of "acceptable cars" would be nice for people like me who just rcae for fun and dont always know exactly what is a GT 300 car vs a GT 500 car

Great..... from the initial response, I'd say we can make this happen. I know at least one other guy that is definitely in.

I'll get a list of all the Super GT 300 cars and edit it into the first post later today. I'll start working out rules and tracks and get them posted sometime this week. Hopefully we can get this started by the end of next week with first race on 1-30. We may have a trial run before then to get everyone familiar with online racing and how everything works.

I'd be game, but I don't think I could do the Sunday night time, unless it was earlier in the evening rather than later.

I do suppose i should ask the time. PST? EST? Define early Something like 7 or 8 PST would be best for me. Id say a prerace starting half an hour before for warm up/whatever with the actual race starting at said time sharp would be nice. i know i hat ewhen people say o race starts at 8 then an hour later you finally get to racing for real.

That's what needs to worked out. 7 eastern is to early for me (PST) to be able to commit every weekend. A 6 (PST) would probably be doable. I think those interest should post when they are available and what time is best for them. Then people can get an idea of when the races will be

I'm flexible on the time.... but keep in mind I'm running in another race that ends around 6m CST. The race WILL start on time, if you are not on track and ready, you are just out. We will start running hot laps at 30min before race start, you can come in any time, your fast lap during that 30min will determine starting position. A countdown will come on screen with 60 sec to go til race starts, at which time your car will automaticlly be place on the grid in your correct starting position, then a 3 count like you get in Aspec will begin and the race is on.

I plan on the races taking approximately minutes to complete (not counting hot laps). I'll determine number of laps based on some average lap times for the track we are running. No engine mods, turbos, or weight reductions allowed. You can run any tire you want, just keep in mind that racing softs are not going to cut it for 30min.

We will run Super GT 300 class race cars. A list of the ones I know about is below, 4 of them are available in the new car dealerships, the the others are only random in used car dealerships.

Wedsport Celica S
Cusco Imprezza P - dealership
Wedsport Lexus IS350 P - dealership
Autobacs Garayia P - dealership
C West Nissan Silvia S15S
Superautobacs Apex MR-S '00
RE Amemiya Asparadrink RX7 '06 - dealership

I know at least a couple more people who want to race and are also new to online racing. We need at minimum 8-10 and will limit field to 16 cars.

P.S. it doesn't have to be on Sunday, I just figured that was best day. The time is going to be the hardest part to work out.

Lets not let this die out guys. If you have suggestions for changing anything...... speak up.

I picked the Super GT 300 class cars because they are easier to handle for beginners/average drivers and I figured it would cut down on a lot of the running off track and crashing. If you would rather run the 500 class Super GT, it's fine with me. There are a lot more 500 class cars available in the game.

Lets try to nail down a time anyway..... I'd really like to get something together for at least a test race so everyone can see how it will work.

I like sunday (anytime works for me)

Did you have any restriction suggestions for the cars? I havent looked at them so I dunno how evenly matched they will be (or do they just need to be stock?)

You'll probably need a poll for the time and see which ones most people can make. I doubt you'll be able to get everyone.

The cars should be left stock. One reason I picked race cars is to avoid all the
hassle with trying to limit upgrades. The only things available for these cars are turbos and maybe stage 3 engine upgrades, neither of which will be allowed. The only thing you should have to buy is whatever tires you choose to run. The cars are all closely matched with only small variations in hp and weight. They all have small differences in how they handle or drive, so you need to find the one you like.

There is probably no way we can get everyone at same time, we just need to find a time that the most can live with.

I'm hoping for around 8pm CST, since I'm racing in another league until 6.

I would be very interested in this league. I have not given GT5 a solid look since before Christmas and would love to use this as an excuse to spend more time with the game. Sunday evenings would work for me. I am on the east coast though so I can't do real late.

Heh, thats the one I bought too. I've done some basic tuning, but until we know the track its difficult to fine tune everything

I'll get on here tomorrow and list everyone that responded and said they were in, if you want off the list, or someone else wants to be added, just post it or pm me.

Unless it just won't work, we'll try for 8pm CST.

Once we get the time and entrants worked out, I'll start a new thread with all the rules, tracks, etc..

Let see if we can shoot for a first race on 1-30, that gives everyone a week to get their car and practice. I'll have the list of tracks by this weekend so you will have plenty of time to get the car setup. As I said before, you can run any tire you want..... but I can tell you from experience that racing softs will not last through a 30 min. race.

We might try to get together one day this coming week for a casual practice, if you have never raced online, I strongly suggest you attend that, or at least practice online..... the cars handle a lot differently online than offline.
