According to Famitsu, Gran Turismo HD will be released in two versions, one with no cars or tracks (at all) and the other, called ?premium? with 30 cars and two tracks. Then the point is to go online and buy additional cars through Sony?s online system. The price of cars will range from $0.43 to $0,80, while the price of tracks ranges from $1.71 to $4.26. There are approximately 750 cars and 50 tracks in the game. You do the math.

OMFG, is sony fscking serious? Despite my blind hatred towards DRM, if there was one thing that would get me to buy a PS3, it would be Gran Turismo, I would wait for the price of the console to go down and I'd get gran turismo, the drm thing wouldn't bother me for GT because I would definately not give it away or sell it. But after hearing this stupid pricing structure, if this really does come true, I will absolutely not buy a PS3 AT ALL.

Essentially. And they didn't do much for the graphics aside from the cars. They're still using low res textures for most of the backgrounds.

But how many of the cars do you actually use? In Gran Turismo 2 I really only used 4 or 5 cars.

The lack of tracks kind of sucks though.

I think it's a novel way to do it, because it gives the developer incentive to keep the game from being stagnant. They can continually develop more tracks to give the game more replay value.
