Strange. I researched the two sims for about 4 weeks before getting GP4.
I read more than a half dozen reviews. Read everyone I could find.
All of them put GP4 ahead of F1 2002.
It was close though, and the biggest complaint with GP4 was the PC needed to run it.
While you can run F1 2002 on a 600MHz, with a GF2MX, GP4 needs a lot more.
Running here on an 2GHz XP, and GF3 Ti500, cranks out 30fps, all details high, 1024x768x32.
The sim is awesome.
Graphics are at a point never seen before.
While driving around the track, fans in the bleachers are waving flags.
JumboTrons appear at different portions of the track, for the spectators to see the action, and you too
can see the action on the Jumbotrons if you look. (things like leaders in car camera, or replay of crash).
Unlike some sims, cars actually show fire with flames, not just smoke.
The shadows from the trees on the road, the raindrops on the visor, the spectators on the yachts, all add to the sim.
We use the Hot Lap multiplayer feature, and connect PC to 53" Sony while 3 of us race the field.
