Got the call on Saturday afternoon.
After enjoying his morning coffee in bed, he fell as he got up to use the restroom and hit his head on the ground pretty severely.
He still managed to get up and get dressed, but after explaining the fall to my grandmother, he laid down again on the bed. He initially dimissed my grandmother's suggestion to get checked out at the hospital, but after a few minutes, he suggested that she call an ambulance.
By the time she returned from the phone, he was unconscious, snoring on his bed. He never regained consciousness. My family and I stayed at his bedside in the hospital from Saturday night thru Sunday and until Monday at about 12:15 when he drew his last breath.
To say he was a prince of man would be to woefully understate his character. He was loved be everyone that knew him. His passing was a terrible and yet inevitale loss. He was 84.
