That should serve you very well (actually, XMS PC2100 Cas 2 would work just as well for you in a GB board, but if you're serious thinking about SpringDale, then go for PC2700).Originally posted by: TechMasterChen
Thanks I.C.
I was thinking that may be the right choice after reading through NewEgg.Com's XMS offerings. I couldn't see a need for PC3000 or PC3200 since I wasn't overclocking, just looking for verification before purchasing it!
It would be nice if Evan would examine and compare each board's voltage regulators (and their components) in future reviews/shootouts...

News to me, although sometimes The Inq hits the nail right on the head, so they could be right. AFAIK, GB boards will be available between mid-Nov and December.
The launch date for Placer is now the 18th and Granite Bay will be about a week after that. I guess we're looking at GB motherboard availability sometime in December. Pricing should be around $200-250 for most GB boards, only the Tyan Trinity S2662 may cost as much as $300.Originally posted by: Evan Lieb

From: www.vr-zone.com
Some manufacturers like EPoX and Chaintech that have originally planned for Granite Bay solutions have scrapped their plans on mass producing GB boards due to high cost of the chipset and opted for higher spec Springdale chipset instead coming Q1 next year. First tier like ASUS, Gigabyte and MSI will be producing boards based on GB chipset.

One cool thing to include in the GB reviews would be a comparison to an i850e 32-bit RIMM4200 system.
Evan, how about Epox's new 4T4A+... Here*.Originally posted by: Evan Lieb

Is there one that works? We've had issues with the P4T533.
