Hello there Guys, I just wanted to run this threw you guys and get the approval stamp on this cooling solution. As many of you know, I have gone with the EVGA nVidia 8800GT Graphic Card and I do plan to OC the Card. So I wanted to get the Air Cooling Hardware before my Rig goes On-Line.

Here is My Air Cooling Solution Choice For EVGA nVidia 8800GT (G92) Graphic Card!

Zalman - VF1000 LED

I know I would have gotten the MSI 8800GT, but I wasn't interested in the MSI Graphic Card. I wanted to go with the EVGA 8800GT Graphic Card. I don't really mind paying the money. But it looks like you would recommend this cooling solution right?

I just wanted to know if you would recommed me this - Z-Machine GV1000 , same as VF1000 LED, but just different color. I really like the Darker Version of it.

Your Thoughts?

I just shopped for 8800gt cooling and i couldn't find a reason to not buy the Accelero S1 Rev. 2. (With the $8 turbo fans)

Look into it.

IIRC, the Zalman and Accelero were pretty close to each other.. I'd have to dig up the old HardOCP review to find out, but either way it should be a fine cooler. I don't know about the Zalman's noise, but the Accelero's Turbo module (or any optional fan you want to strap on it) is very quiet, near silent, and is the reason I went with that. Also, it was quite cheap, picked it up on Newegg as soon as it came in stock for $24, before they promptly sold out again and raised the price to $30 lol.

Edit:
Here it is.
http://hardocp.com/article.htm...w0LCxoZW50aGlzdWFzdA==

Accelero and VF1000 are pretty close, within a degree or two.

If you decide to go with the Accelero, just keep in mind their ramsinks don't stick so well.

I'd still get the Zalman ramsinks, because they are good quality. I think Zalman has much better quality control period. Yet, I can't really deny that the Accelero is a very nice GPU core cooler.

EDIT: BTW, if you're getting any Zalman VF-1000 or VF-900, you won't need the extra ramsinks in your first post. That package is designed for the old 8800GTX/Ultra and GTS and is not compatible with the 8800GT. The 8800GT will be fine with the ramsinks that come with the VF-1000/900.

EDIT2: The problem with getting an Accelero is that the ramsinks aren't great. Zalman makes them better. You can order the Zalman ramsinks you need separately, here.

It's your money, but please realize you're spending nearly $75-$100 on aftermarket cooling, which gets you into GTS or GTX pricing territory. One of those with a stock Accelero, Zalman, or other low db cooling solution would serve you better and you'd retain your warranty.

Dis-approve.
As I suggested on another forum you posted this question on, have you considered a Thermalright HR-03GT?
I am happy to give my opinion, now let's hear yours

He has an EVGA card. EVGA allows aftermarket coolers to be installed as long as you put back the stock one if there is an rma required. No voiding of the warranty

Accelero S1, hands down (unless you simply don't have the space, but OP hasn't specified)

Price is absolutely amazing (among the lowest of the alternatives recommended here) and even the performance is the best - whether you want silence (it's more than adequate for completely passive cooling) or performance (apply some active cooling to it and it'll outperform any of the other solutions)

the Thermalright HR-03GT can be just as good but for twice the cost you're paying for aesthetics and nothing more, its also easier to strap larger (120mm) or multiple fans to the S1.

Same deal with Zalman - Zalman rarely has the best performance (note, not bad, just not best), but its hard to deny that their products are among the best looking.

Another perk to the Accelero S1 is that Arctic Cooling already pre-applies a perfect amount and layer of their highly competitive MX-2 thermal compound.

ok guys, I have read you comments and I have dropped the Zalman for sure. Now I am looking at Two Choices and they are the following:

Accelero S1 Rev. 2 or The Thermalright HR-03 Rev. A Your Thoughts?

I am pretty sure that most of you guys are gona recommend me the Accelero S1 Rev. 2, but I just need to put something else against the Accelero S1 Rev. 2. I know Thermalright is gona be bit more expensive. The reason I went to Thermalright is Because I am gona be using there Thermalright Ultra-120 eXtreme for my Processing Cooling. So I thought this might be a good combination. Thermalright for Processor and Graphic Card. Your Thoughts?

Accelero, no question. My core OCed to 650 never goes about 50C no matter what, and this is with bare memory adding to the heat.

Vegettoxp, please take a look at that hardocp review I linked to, it contains the HR-03 as well as a myriad of other coolers. The Accelero performs very well for its price, unless you don't want to consider the price/performance ratio, in which case, go all out.

My recommendation stands at the Accelero as I am personally using it and it's absolutely amazing. You don't get any kind of performance boost simply by having both coolers made from the same company, just get what works best at the price you're willing to pay.

Ok guys, you have won be over and I am gona go with the Accelero S1 Rev. 2. Everyone had recommeded me that Cooler again and again, so I will follow you comments. I only have one question and that is:

Can I use 80mm or 120mm Fans on the Accelero S1 Rev. 2? And How many can I put on?

And if someone had already done what I am thinking, can you tell me how can I secure those fans on the heatsink.

Your Thoughts?

P.S. Fusion

UPDATE:

Arctic Cooling - Accelero S1 Rev. 2 (Final Price - $33.94) With No Turbo Module

Thermalright HR-03 Rev. A (With 8800GT PWN-Heat sink) (Final Price - $49.52) With No 8800GT PWN-Heat sink (Where do I buy These?)

You can use the Turbo Module that's designed for it, or you can simply strap your own fan of choice to it.
http://www.silentpcreview.com/article793-page5.html
SPCR decided to strap their favorite Nexus 120mm fan onto it with zip ties.

Also, please make sure your case is big enough to accommodate the card, it's quite a bit bigger than the VF1000 (comparison pics are on an earlier page of that article.)

I can't quite understand your last question though.

Ok guys, I have gone and made my choice for my Graphic Card Cooler. I am gona go with the following combination. And if you have any other recommendations on 120mm Fans, Please tell me which one I should get.

Arctic Cooling Accelero S1 Rev. 2 (V2) + 120mm Scythe S-Flex SFF21F = Yes or No?

And the total price tag that I got is = $56.08 (Good or Bad)

Your Thoughst?

Excellent choice! I don't know what rpm that fan has, but if it's not over 1000 is very silent and efficient.

I have 38 C idle and 50 C load, with this cooler with a 120 mm 1000rpm fan, on my 8800 GT, volt modded at 1.1 V , 740 /1850/1950 clocks. It just can't be any cooler then that.

I think F was the 1600rpm version and is way overkill for the Accelero, you could go with the quieter (and slower) 1200rpm version "E" for only a few degrees difference, if any. Of course you could always just undervolt the fan to 5v (recommended.)

Thx for the input guys. I am glad that I finally have my cooling combination for my graphic card. I will look into your recommendtaion and look for a quieter fan. Ok then, I am gona go with the following Combination:

Arctic Cooling Accelero S1 Rev. 2 (V2) + 120mm Scythe S-Flex SFF21E = Yes or No?

1,200rpm - 20.1dBA - 49.0CFM

Yep, sounds good. Remember you can undervolt that fan if the noise is a bit louder than you'd like for a very minimal temperature difference.
