NFS4, you recently said in one post that Anand commented that the GeforceFX's memory was not a complete implementation of DDR-II. Do you have any more info regarding this?

i wonder how you can make a chip that runs cooler and faster at the same time...

dropping micron helps but nvidia already done that..

Good thing is that prices gonna get lower, yay for consumers. Of course I hope Nvidia wont go out of business like 3dfx did, or else price gets jacked up.

Wow this is so cool! This is getting so interesting! I am glad the prices will start getting a little more cheaper for the ATI 9700 pro but i want to know how the ATI R350 performs compared to the ATI R300! Hope its at least 20% faster but i wouldn't mind 50% +!

AMD did that with the t-bred B core. They put another interconnect layer that made it run cooler, even though they are faster. Notice how everyone says the B core OC's better ? It is because they run cooler than the A core. I hope that is what ATI did. If they did, R350 WILL kick FX out of competition, even with newer drivers. No matter what you do to the FX, it still has 75 watts of heat to dissapate. It has to go somewhere. (into your case and heating up your CPU most likely)

God the Geforce FX is extremely load in 3d. Even in 2d its loud compared to the ATI 9700 pro. The ATI 9700 pro noise level isn't to bad.

What i'm wondering is will the r350 include some core enhancements? I'm thinking yes because we are hearing that its just about "Taped Out".

If it was just a speed increase ATI would only have to hand pick the better cores and slap a larger heatsink and throw in some faster ram.

Holy crap, an R350 powered laptop? Match that up with a P4 3.13Ghz proc and some PC2700 in there, and youll have a laptop that can really kill at a LAN party!!

Adul hmm i wonder how long the batteries would last on that kind of laptop? I wish someone would make a battery for a laptop that could make any laptop last 12 to 24 hours with one battery. I still would love that kind of laptop even if it didn't have a long battery life i just hate that batteries can't last longer than they do now.

I'm hoping that the R350's 8 pixel pipelines will increase to two texture units per pipeline from one. This, combined with a ~50mh-75mhz increase in core/memory speed would rule!

robg1701, I think you should remove all those smile icons, people get their nickers in a bunch about bandwidth around here and doing stuff like that is the best way to make pages load extremely slow .

Can anyone say .13 micron Radeon? Heck, that alone would suffice in making it run cooler and suck less power. Anyone know the best way to cool current 9700Pro cards for overclocking, is the default fan setup with ASIII added good enough for a decent OC on this thing?

the RV350 is based of the r300 core, not the r350 core. Since it will be the first .13 part from ati, and I am sure they are focusing on power usage here, it should be quite powerful

Adul, It said in the article that the R350 was .15 micron.

Quote from the article:
" To ensure a better yield rate and cheaper sales price, ATI said that the R350 chips will be manufactured on the more mature 0.15-micron process and use lower-cost, 10-layer PCBs for the supporting graphics cards."

4 of the 5 the emoticons i used are already used (you only download them once) on the page (only one that isnt is the grumble) either by users or in the Thread/Message Rating section when you make a post, so my pattern adds a massive 1kb (well, slightly more, 1061bytes ) to the total page load, 2kb at a stretch if you remove the ones cached when posting - i think we can all handle that....im on 56K, i should know
