I bought one of these from them a few weeks ago, works fine in XP, but the damn pen broke a day after I set it up, and I've not gotten any response back from the company yet. Very disappointing.

I was wondering if you can use the tablet as a mouse replacement for general use in the OS.

Also, how well does it work in graphics applications esp. Photoshop, ie. does it skip around, how fast of a response time, etc.? Because with some other tablets, I guess it doesn't poll for data fast enough and instead of getting curves, you get lines connecting along the path that you draw, if that makes any sense at all.

Thanks.

Compgeeks does very little correspondence with their customers. One day in the mail you'll find a replacement piece. At least that it is what happens to me. I still buy from them.

please post feedback on the product... i've been interested in it, but since i wasn't impressed with my mp3 player by the same company, i've been wary of jumping on it.

I don't know about the quality of this but I can truely say that the manufacture is crap based on their mp3 players.

Yeah, I think the company sucks too. Although I can't say anything about this particular product.

Yes, I'd like to know the answer to that question as well and not just with regard to this particular graphics tablet, but with regard to graphic tablets in general. Do, most, some, or any of them allow you to use them just as a mouse if you choose to do so?

I had this experience too. It took like 4 months for me to get a power supply from them. and at the end they were pretty much "TS". They offered only a 3.20$ credit for this power supply that is worth 20-25$. I told them to screw that and i'll wait for a power supply. a few months later, out of the blue, no emails or anything, i received a power supply. Resold it for 40$ I would still buy from compgeeks, but i will dread the day when i receieve something that requires RMA. It's a shame, because they have (normally) great prices for their components.

This isn't even worth $16.50! I was gonna buy one locally here on clearance for $10 from a computer store and the employees said it wasn't even worth that. They said they got lots of them back because the quality was terrible and they weren't accurate worth a damn. The stylus is wired and too light.

Anyway, just my opinion and those of a couple of fellow geeks.

I'd second the recommendation to not purchase this item. I bought one of 'em a while back, and it's not useful at all, maybe for kids. It's an awkward shaped, wired pen, takes a lot more pressure to use than my wacom, and the pad area is small (I wouldn't recommend less than 6x8" for any graphics work, it's a pain to be constrained any more than that).

Yes, but would it perhaps be accurate enough just to use as a mouse and not necessarily for any graphics work? Furthermore do other better graphics tablets, like the Wacom you mention, also function as a regular mouse? I'm not necessarily interested in using one for graphics work anyway. I'm more interested in using one in place of a mouse for all the things youd normally just use a plain old mouse for.

Nordic:
Stick with the cheap wacom. I have had one for a couple years and it is excellent. I have been using it for photoshop and illustrator on my mac and it comes with both a mouse and the pen tool (wireless no battery mouse) The mouse is ok not too bad. I paid under 100 but have seen it for almost half that price at times at various places on sale. So look around and you wont be dissapointed.
