95 Rodeo (1st car)

08 X5 (2nd car)

Love these designs. Can't stand driving passenger cars anymore (wife had an Accord and bro had a Civic, mom has a Talon/Eclipse - too cramped, too short, no utility, boring) and I despise driving minivans like the boats that they are. SUVs & gas mileage = small price to pay. Anyway, I'm getting 18mpg in the X. Good enough for me.

I thought you were getting rid of it.

I'm getting rid of mine.

Apparently I'm not the only GTO owner on here...
I was set on selling it, but I'm too upside down in the loan for it to be worthwhile right now.

And frankly, going from 400 lb-ft of torque to anything else is going to be difficult...

How about a video of my ride?

I raced a Porsche Boxer convertible last weekend on the way with the kids to get a mom day present, we were doing about 55-60 when we both punched it, got up to about 120 and he was about 6-7 car lengths behind me till I said it was fast enough (had the kids in the car with me)

The guy never even bothered to look at as when he passed by, and I wonder why
The one wheel wonder $800 Fastro smoked his several 10's of thousands Porsche. Needless to say my oldest and I had a great chuckle about it.

Good. You wouldn't want to end up like this guy.

Great . . . street racing at triple-digit speeds with your kids in a minivan. Hopefully Mom has some common sense.

Beater.

We want pics of the M3.

OK:

Front
Left
Right

I await the flames.

You're flaming just fine, no need to add to it

I really like the M3's they really don't do anything wrong (save the valvetrain nightmares from the 95ish changeover...I actually had two friends of friends of friends that had the issue and did nothing wrong...BMW would not fix it), I almost bit the bullet on a new 95 or 96...instead I bought a house. If I knew about a year later I'd be divorced I would have sunk the money into the car.

There is a unique feel to the M3 at least to me.

Street racing is usually what fools do within a city area. Being he is at 55-60 MPH, I'd say it was interstate...not that it's illegal, but I somehow think the poster wasn't doing the idiotic weaving in and out of lanes.

I personally feel the traffic laws are a bit tight considering the potential of our modern vehicles.

I think rather than focusing on those driving too fast the law should focus on those that don't yield nor get to the rightmost lane when possible.

Everyday on my commute I have/see a few things happen all of which really slow down everyone...the speeders for the most part aren't really causing many issues save those going 50+mph over the limit or crotchrockets weaving...both causing motorist panic:

1) some asshat fly up in the merge lane and pass a person already going an adequate speed to merge.

2) someone straddle two lanes to force a person behind him to slow down

3) someone enter the merge lane and stay 10-20mph below the posted speed, bonus points when they stop at the end of the merge with their blinker on.

4) the left lane nazi, that insists on not only merging slowly, but immediately crossing 4+ lanes to get to the left lane and often the HOV lane while they are solo. They also insist on sticking to a mph or two below the limit.

5) the 'I want to lead the pack' guy...this idiot insists on repeatedly passing and then slowing way down. Once traffic gets fed up and passes him, he repeats it.

6) lately you have these assholes with train horns and big trucks that try to intimidate drivers. It'd be one thing if they were on a steady click, but they revel in passing fast and then slowing down and then getting behind things like miatas and S2000s. My brother drives a 996 and 3 times now he has been a victim of this crap.

Due to my wife I try to ignore these types. In the past I have sent them off road when it was only me and them around.

IMHO if all drivers yielded right we wouldn't need many of our highway expansions.

The daily driver

1996 Chevy Caprice LT1

The project car

1956 Chevy "parade car"

Needs a LOT of work before it's done, but not a lot to get it back onto the road while we work on the rest. She'll end up a rat-rod-esque satin black, red and white interior, maybe some flames or scallops. It was a Lion's Club parade car, the top was cut off many years and paint-jobs ago.

Dude take a pill, I was well in control, straight line, and its in the country where it was just him and I. I wouldnt do anything nuts I didnt think I could handle or would put my kids in great harm. Used to do tipple digits all the time, I know what to do and how to handle it, maybe not you, but then Im not you. And its not as if we held that speed, I got far enough away, and felt that was enough and quit, maybe 15-20 seconds if that. Enough to embarrass that guy enough that he got smoked by a beater.

Besides I take it you dont have any kids and how racing a car against car would make a kid feel as though he was part of something, especially when its a 88 astro against a Porsche and the astro wins. My oldest still has not stopped talking about it. And considering the actual speed limit on the road we were on was 75, its not liek I was doing too much more, and I prolly exaggerated about 125 considering my van highest is 85, maybe more then barely over 100.
