I was number one on the folding team for many years. I'm still folding but have given into my various sysadmins who tell me that servers shouldn't fold and that folding is a PITA so I'm less involved.
I guess it was about the time I got divorced that I quit posting regularly and then lost interest as life got a bit tumultuous. I was single for several years and got remarried three months ago. Since the divorce I have taken up motor bike riding and bicycle racing. These two activities have helped preserve my sanity in the interim and helped me to stay balanced.
My new wife brought three great kids into the mix and when combined with my aging teen girls, there is never a dull moment.
Life is good for me and i'm happy to be back and to have the help of Harvey to restore my account from long ago. Perhaps a sign that things are now normalized in my life is that I have returned to my interest and passion for folding. While I may not put up the numbers that I once did, I still believe strongly in the people behind the science of the work and the results that I hope we will achieve one day.
I believe that life is very short and as the days fly by we can chose to invest in things that will make the lives of others better or just watch life go by without making an impact. I chose the former.
