Grey is a colour, and gray also is a color.
I went with grey because the majority of the world use grey, colour, and metric. While, American use gray, color, and imperial measurement.

It seems as if the US don't like to agree with the rest of the world on many things. It is a good thing that everyone is different unique, but we should agree on certain thing such as spelling/communication to minimize missed translation. That's interesting, but I'm not sure what the metric system has to do with the preferred spelling of grey/gray.
As outhouse already pointed out it's a regional preference, but both are acceptable.
Pretty much everyone.
Tea. Earl Grey. Hot.
