These look like some nice prices on older DirectX 8.1 hardware cards that will still perform adequately in today's games for a small price.

I ordered from this company back when they had the Visiontek ATI 9100 cards on blowout, seemed like a reputable company (at least i got my order anyway)

here ya go:

Visiontek Geforce3 64MB $46

Visiontek Geforce4 TI4400 128MB $89

Yea, the gf4 looks like a good card. Should play doom 3 decently. You can probably get a used 9500 pro in the f/s forum for 100 though. Probably a better bet in my opinion.

I have a 128meg gf4 ti4200@4600 running Doom3 with high settings and 1280x1024 at around 40fps. Works for me..

Saying that a deal isn't hot isn't thread crapping. BTW, I agree that this isn't a very hot deal. For those prices, you can buy much better cards in the FS/FT forum or eBay and for just a little more, you can get a decent brand new DX9 card.

What kind of specs is the rest of your system?? I've got a XP 2400+ (running at 2ghz), 768ram, and I was impressed that I was able to pull ~35fps on medium at 800x600 with a GF4 Ti4200.

Anyway, more on-topic to this thread, the ti4400 should be good for most of the games we'll be seeing for awhile, even on my 1400mhz chip (had it before I upgraded to the XP 2400+), I was able to run Doom 3 at ~ 30 FPS on 800x600 at low quality (which of course, still looks fantastic) with my ti4200.

Excuse me, but those are not hot deals...

You're excused, although i expected that kind of remark from a junior member.

Not hot deals eh? Find a better deal on a brand new card from a retailer and post it for us.
And NO, not everyone is interested or knows how to purchase used cards in the FS/FT forums or ebay.

And i never said this was a super hot deal, just that these were nice cards for the price, and their brand new, not used. I'm just tryin to help out

With some tweaking of the doomconfig.cfg (namely image_cachemegs, image_cacheMinK, and image_usecache) playable rates at 1024x768 Medium Quality are easily attainable with a Ti4200. I have a Ti4200 and XP 2400+ and 1GB of RAM and average 35-45FPS with all effects on.

I'd not buy anything less then the GeForce 4. I have a Geforce 3 TI500 which was the top of the GeForce 3 line and it's really time I upgrade as it doesn't do a hot job of playing any current game unless the settings are turned way, way down..... and even then it leaves alot of be desired.

You guys are way too sensitive. Take a chill pill, get plenty of rest and you will feel better in the morning...

And an OK deal from Buy.com is here.

Thanks for post DaveyBrat

Are you a part time cop wanna be? I'm not crapping the thread, just communicating my opinion that these are not hot deals. We all live in a free democratic society, right? I bought my GF3 Ti500 years ago for about $50 and I'm comparing these prices to my personal experiences. Not everything in live is high-fives and cheers.

Looks like a pretty warm deal to me...maybe you can get a better card in FS/FT...but I will take new card at this price. Newegg is selling ti4200 for $110 and THAT is a refurb. Nice find.

Yes, your optimistic outlook on life is quite encouraging.

Ok, so show me a "brand new" card today for $50 dollars that equals the GF3 in perfomance?

How is this GeForce3 compare to an ATI8500LE? I can probably sell my LE for $40 and if the geforce3 is better, it'd be a cheap upgrade.
