I got this, cheap shit, Changed out PSU and 60 mm fan added 80mm fan, cut top grill out for a Q8400 to breath and I'm happy. Larger than many itx but uses a full size DVD. Half height cards only on the pcie. If you want a high performance graphics card you'll not want this case.

What PSU did you buy for that?

That doesn't seem that cheap to me. Lian Li Q07 is a little bigger (still MiniITX), supports full side DVD and full size PSU for about the same price listed on Newegg.

You could also look at Silverstone's Sugo series. A little more expensive, but I always liked them better than the Lian-Li PC-Q07. A little more expensive but the SG05-B comes with a 300W PSU. If you want to use your own PSU, you're going to have to go for larger cases like the PC-Q07 or SG03-B. And then you're limited to low-profile HSF because the PSU sits on top of the motherboard.

Apex MI-008. Nice, but you need to carefully choose your cooling. The small size is sweet though, and it uses a full size DVD unlike the SG05-B. The Apex looks great in person too (and cheap!).

+1.

I purchased this case a while back and I'm finally getting to my htpc project. The quality is decent and hard to beat for the price.

I'm still looking for a suitable cooler too, any good recommendations on what will fit. I'm thinking of going with an H55 board.

Solid little PSU, only thing I found to be a pain was the length of the cables. they were so long the only option I had in such a small case was to cut and sleeve. I intended to sleeve the wire anyway but to cut and solder all those pins just about drove me nuts.

Yup. To me, it's simple. If you already have a good ATX PSU and/or full size DVD/BluRay, then go with the Lian Li Q07. If you're starting from scratch, I like the Silverstone SG05 w/300W PSU, knowing you'll have to buy a slim optical drive. To me, the Lian Li Q08 seems overpriced.

I'm not sure why someone would choose the Apex case for $40-50 + a $70 300W PSU as opposed to the Silvestone SG05 w/300W for $100 to begin with. Unless you REALLY want the full size optical or looking for a very specific footprint or something. Or the right deal came along.

Unless you REALLY want the full size optical or looking for a very specific footprint or something.

This was my reasoning, mostly the full size optical, in my case this was more important than having a full height expansion slot.
