These shows are both great! The jokes generally involve more thinking than most people give them credit for. Especially when they do running gags. Maybe if you only watched one show that just happened to be one of the not as funny episodes. If you watch them marathon style, they are even better! I can't wait to add these to my collection! Hooray for Family Guy and Futurama

I agree, the more you watch, the funnier it gets!! This is one of the few shows that make my stomach hurt from laughing so hard. This is a must have for my collection, thanks! I had no idea it was going to be released to DVD. Now I can get rid of those crappy VCD caps...

"Family Guy" was a st@b in the back from FOX to all the fans of this hilarious show. Family Guy combines the American satirical comedy of "The Simpsons" with the sick and tasteless humor from "South Park". Thanks to the greedy executives from FOX, "Family Guy" was cancelled, but at least we have this upcoming DVD, which includes audio commentaries and the banned episode "Wish Upon a Weinstman"

Family Guy is a great series... while it lasted. It's definitely better than The Simpsons' last two or so seasons. But The Simpsons still hold the crown for best cartoon series of all-time in my book. Futurama is a good show too...

You would be VERY suprised about "south park" tho. I know i know, it's so mainstream in merchandising now...but do yourself a favor...watch AT LEAST 3 episodes (so you are sure you're not seeing only a bad episode) and then judge. South park TOTALLY distroys king of the hill, is better than futurama, but IMO, not as good as Family Guy, however, it reallllllllllllllllllllllly goes out of it's way to do things no one else would touch.

Im not too much into shock comedy tho. FG is good enough fro me. SP is all bad language and crap, which really isnt for me. FG and the simpsons and futurama all make me laugh like an idiot without resorting to that

South Park has hit way more extremes than Family Guy and has run more seasons. They have often resorted to some pretty bizarre and offensive themes.

The Simpsons are the best (last few seasons, notwistanding).

I hated the Family Guy at first-I thought they were a one-trick pony with that football-headed baby. But after I watched a few more episodes (at the recommendation of a friend), I realized that it wasn't only hilarious, but I found me asking myself "I don't believe they got away with that-the cencors must've been asleep."

If the Family Guy started on a cable network, like South Park did, they probably would of lasted alot longer.

Speaking about animated series that didn't last long enough, I HIGHLY recommend you people check out the CLERKS animated series. You can find it on DVD (it has director commentary by Kevin Smith and the actors). Really funny series that should of been on cable.

If you like Simpsons, FG or Futurama, I can't believe you don't like South Park (to MaxDSP). It just gets funnier each season. Did you guys see that recent episode that totally blasted John Edward for being such a "douche". Oh MY GOD! Funniest damn thing I've ever seen! That's what's great about SP, they make fun of things that need to be ridiculed with very good arguments.
