You can actually run a 27" CRT TV off that. I measured my tv and its around 65-80watts consumption.

Degaussing though, which it probably does when turned on, can draw a LOT of power. When my 21" monitor degausses, the UPS (1250VA Cyberpower) beeps briefly, indicating a momentary overload. I don't know what effect this sudden draw will have on the inverter, and if it can't provide the power, I don't know how the CRT will react.

that thing is super weenie. If your trying to do any type of permanant install in your car it will probably be too much. Once i scrimped on my power inverter because I was just under the load limit, and when there was strain on the car's power (uphill, revving) the thing would turn off :-/ This is only for messing around and small appliances

The wattage on these things are enough to power a lot of things BUT you must check that the fuse on your car can withhold this... I had one of these and it said not to plug it in cars with "xxx" i dont remember. I checked my car and i didn't meat the specs, i tried it anyways and i blew a fuse in teh car...

Screw the fuse, I had my Inspiron 9200 plugged into a 300w unit, plugged into the cig lighter and it must have actually melted the harness because I have yet to find a fuse that's blown and the cig adapter doesn't work any more. Then my buddies tested it in the other 2 in my Trailblazer on the way back from Flordia with another power adapter (we thought it was the adapter that had the issues) and no my vehicle has no working cig adapters......

Can't this be hard on whatever equipment you're using with it, if the power can fluctuate, and be less than required? Isn't that one reason why UPS's and line conditioners are so important? Why risk this on a nice laptop, TV, etc?
