I second that. Have used it on Win98se and now WinXP Pro. Easy to use and very fast and light, unlike Mcafee and Norton which have other crap I don't use that make them seem sluggish. Flawless so far (at least imo).

i agree with grisoft as well. i set it up for autoupdate and never even think about it anymore. exactly what you look for in a antivirus program.

That result set is from June of 2002. The most recent test they did (November 2002) is at this link. A couple of the products listed failed in the June test but passed the November test.

Grisoft AVG still failed though.

I don't have any faith in AVG's free version. I installed it and tested it out by downloading a known virus. I was expecting it to warn me after the download completed but it didn't, so I thought maybe I needed to actually run it for it to warn me. I almost did run it but decided against it. Instead, I did a scan of the file and it didn't detect a virus. I uninstalled it after that.

So-far, I'm extremely happy with my PC-Cillin 2003 that I got upgraded for free from PC-Cillin 2002.

I've never tried this avast! product, however, but I am really against using AVG free edition.

Thanks for that link! Here's more info about other products from the same site. I'm sticking with Norton.

They seem to be doing better lately, and better than Grisoft AVG. Passed the two most recent tests.

Note: all passes in Windows XP which is what I'm using.
