Sears has several bedding promotions coming together to make this a prime time for buying a new mattress.
They have the usual "50% Off" sale, but that is the usual price (compared to an imaginary" MSRP). What is far better is that they are showing a $150 to $300 "closeout" discount on a bunch of Sealy and Serta models that end their 'model year' in march. The "new" 2010 version will usually have only a different ticking cover.
Even better is that they are now combining TWO "10% Off" promos (yes, two). This also combines with a rare "Free Delivery and Haul-off" promo (after online rebate). The icing on the cake is an 8% Bing cashback deal. You can even get another $5 off with the coupon code "SEARSLOVE"
This mattress "perfect storm" is making for some extraordinary deals. I know, it's impossible to comparison-shop bedding, but Sears still has their "100% Satisfaction Guarantee", and you sure as hell won't find that at Mattress Mac's anymore.
I went in last week and tried on this model: Perfect Sleeper "Reese" Firm EuroTop Cal. King Mattress (Sears Item# 08297453000) with a $250 end-of-year discount for $924. It shows both 10% discounts in my cart:
Get an extra 10% off Mattresses Sold by Sears with minimum purchase of $499. Discount in cart. -$92.50
Extra 10% off Mattresses Sold by Sears with a minimum purchase of $499. Discount shown in cart. -$83.25
Item Total $ 749.24
Try on dual-10% discounts and 8% cash back for a net delivered like $688. I also found a new product on sale: wood-platform foundations instead of box springs. Get Sears Item# 08252022000 for 2 x $120 minus discounts and you have a last-forever base for $180 (rather than the matching box-spings at $268). And Free Delivery!
Not sure how long all this goodness will "stack", but it sure is doing it today. You're going to spend a lot more time in the fart-sack than you will spend looking at that new monitor! Get Busy
