REI E-Wrap Computer Sleeve - X Small
Now $9.83 was $30.00

http://www.rei.com/product/763389

Free ship-to-store makes it a killer deal, maybe so-so if you have to pay for shipping. I have one of these and can highly recommend it - well padded, fits my EeePC 900A with a little room to spare, but not loose. Power supply and cord fit nicely in the zippered pocket. I picked mine up in-store, but ordered another one online.

I don't quite understand the design of the sleeve case? Does it open on the top and the side? Good price for a bag, tho'.

Yeah, you can open either flap. I like the "top load" mode, where you open the long flap and slide the laptop out the "top". It can also be opened in "side load" and the laptop slid in from the "side".

I guess "top" really means the long side of the laptop and "side" really means the short side of the laptop - if that makes any sense.

I would have preferred only opening on one side, but for the quality and price I'll put up with it - the velcro is strong enough that I'm not worried about the side opening when I don't want it to. I use the built in "top" handle and carry that way.

FWIW, you can also return REI online purchases to the store, so as long as you have an REI conveniently located to you, it's risk-free. $0 shipped to store and then full refund if you don't like it and return the item to the store

Do you know if this will fit a 10" MSI wind 6 cell + Travel Powercord + mini mouse?

it looks like there is a side pouch, but there doesn't look like much depth to it.

from what i can tell, it works better for 9".

for my 10" lappy, i got a case meant for 11-12". the mouse fits down the side next to the laptop, and the cords go in a velcroed pocket.

it works well for my purposes, and doesnt look too much like a purse.

you'd think with the glut of 10" laptops available, they'd come out with more cases built specifically for them.

I don't have a 10" laptop, but I'd guess it would fit. I can almost slide my phone (AT&T Tilt) in alongside the 900A, and I believe the case claims to be for 11" so there may be enough space. The mesh pouch which appears in the pictures actually is gussetted on the bottom and stretches outward a lot more than it appears - I can easily get the 900A's (tiny) power supply and cord in there. I guess it would depend on how mini your mini mouse is - the typical "notebook" sized ones should fit (perhaps a bit tight), but the really small ones would fit easily.

Laptop cases are really tough (IMO) to decide on without seeing/touching, so if you have an REI locally, I'd encourage you to order one and just return it if you don't like it....

There is a glut of 9/10" laptops, but they're not all shaped very similarly. Some are twice as thick as others, some are big in the butt with higher cell-count battery, etc.

I also just got a 10" MSI Wind, 6-cell, but I haven't received it yet (the CA/int keyboard deal going around before. We'll see how I handle the funky return key)

I remember an articale I read a couple weeks ago. I can't remember the exact numbers, but North America ordered only 1/3 of all the netbooks sold in the world. Europe purchasd the most by far. North America was less than a million.

It will fit the Wind according to a reviewer on the rei.com site. But personally I'd avoid it because although the pocket on the front might be able to stow a mouse you won't be able to stow your power cord in it.

I saw the bag in person a few weeks back during the super clearance sale but bought a larger one instead for my EEE because this one just wouldn't store my power brick and mouse because the pocket is just too tiny. Great for impact resistance and a mouse maybe, but overall the bag is too barebones for my taste.

Not arguing, but is the MSI power supply much bigger than the Asus? The Asus is IMO very small, but I checked last night and I should be able to put it *and* a Microsoft notebook mouse in the outside pouch. I don't have a place to host pictures but I could try to take some tonight.

Good price, but not a big fan of the design.

I like my Case Logic neoprene sleeve. Fits my 10.5" Fujitsu P7120 perfectly -- snug, but not tight. Very compact and virtually weightless, highly recommended.
