Great price on x220?

Hey I was looking at the x220 and I can get the following for $795 (w/ student discount). I've been watching these for the last few weeks and the price keeps dropping (prob ~100 less than when I first saw this). Anyway: 1) Does this seem like a price to grab, or have you seen it for less // think it will go down more. and 2) This has nothing to do with the x220, but how does the new Macbook air (w/ comparable specs) seem to consistently out perform the x220 on benchmarks (sans battery life / durability), especially considering that it has ULV processors? 3) Does anyone know what is the intel 160gb ssd is--e.g. 320 or the older x series? if it's the 320 then I can get it as part of the deal for only about 275, which strikes me as possibly worth it... otherwise I'll probably be putting an ssd in after I get the computer.

Very nice! If you were to go to Lenovo's website and configure the X220, even with their current eCoupon, your price comes out ahead. Try it.

I would down-grade your CPU one notch and upgrade your battery if you plan to be untethered from outlets much...

Theres a Mastercard Market deal right now, I ordered a x220 yesterday with pretty much the same configuration without the fingerprint reader and the slower i5 and it was about 725 before tax.

I ordered an mSata ssd (40G) off newegg to use alongside the 320 gig spinning disk ($99 on newegg).

The X220 and X220i are both limited to the onboard Intel 3000 graphics.

I would definitely upgrade to the 9 cell battery if you intend to be mobile. It adds another lb or so to the overall weight though, but 10+ hr battery life for internet and productivity apps is pretty good.

If you don't mind going refurb, check Lenovo Outlet for some deals on x220. Your best bet is after midnight when they are restocking. First-come, first-serve inventory. Good luck!

If you can get the price to >999 after tax or get a tablet, you can take advantage of the AMEX facebook deal and get another 150 off. That truly makes it a steal.

Sorry for the off-topic, but how do you get the student discount? Their student website is broken, apparently... nothing ever shows up where you select a school, i've tried on different computers and web browsers...
