By the way, aren't the so-called purple grapes actually called RED grape in the supermarket? I don't recall seeing "PURPLE" grapes there. I do recall reg, green and possibly BLACK although I'm not sure on the black.

Regardess, red seedless are so damn good. I just ate about 30 or so after reading this thread. Yummy breakfast!!!

This poll is deadlocked...

Hard to find a subject that'll get 50/50 in a poll.

edit: btw...GO GREEN!

I loved eating the small, very tart and sour green grapes right off the vine. I can't say I've ever had any others right off the vine, so I wouldn't be able to say which I prefer that way. If it's store bought (even farmer's markets) I'm mostly indifferent. Grapes in general aren't one of my favorite fruits though (and is downright nasty when its in fruit cocktail).

Voted red...locked at 25/25.

Red ones are usually sweeter, in my experience.

I think green has stayed popular because for so long it was the only color of grape the general public consumed. Slowly red seedless came into the market, but people were still apprehensive because to them, grapes were simply green. But the darker ones have more flavor. Give them a shot people.

same here, well I've seen purple ones without seeds, but better not risk it

They are called Red Seedless grapes. I've got two bags in the fridge and I've never hit a seed!

Me too! They are really sweet. In celebration of the summer season and warm weather, I have some frozen grapes too. So SO good!

Red seedless as they are as sweet as the purple ones, but they tend to have a texture more like that of the green ones.
