We (me and my mates) used to be a member of S@N too. We had done about 2100 wu's, but then started doing RC5

Oh and then we retired those blocks into the SETI 'division' of DPC; I believe we are still taking 4th place within that 'huge division' of DPC

I hope we will keep each other updated throught the forums. I also hope that RC5 stuff will be going on for a while.... 'cause when someone finds that key, i'm afraid we are toast
>>

Blackbiker:
Relax When rc5 is over, it wont just be TA-members who switch to seti. A small single [DPC] tag in your team name might just attract _some_ of our members

, that kind of CPU power is impressive.
>>

He's running some ORIGIN servers too (no all the time)

Nice Forum you got here, had some trouble registering a few weeks ago... but I've done it this time

I'm just one of the "lower" ranked Seti@Netherlands with 226 Wu, but speeding up

You know you've got some CPU power when the Berkeley crew asks you not to UL/DL during certain times. If my math is correct, he's downloading something like 500000-700000KB just to keep his fleet busy for a day! :Q

With CobraICE on the loose, is anyone else hoping that rc5 key is found soon? :frown:

Our BIG weapon Cobra has not even all 650 pc's setup yet. The origin servers are being used for SETI occaisionally, but, if he wants more, he can use the earlier mentioned 650 pc's for SETI. If that doesn't do the trick, he can go for thousands of pc's (internationally that is). He isn't doing this since it's quite a lot of work to setup all of them (total number of >35000 - 40000). An other reason not to take all of those cpu's into the game is 'he didn't want to scare the pants of of his team mates' (and others like yourselves ofcourse ). Furthermore SETI would probably be sucked completely out WU's anyway

BTW, nice forum you have here.

I'll be back

<< "But... we released the genie from the bottle and his name is CobraICE. This guy is flushing 1000 to 2000 wu's a day!" - BlackBiker

Are you kidding me? 1000-2000 WU's/day!!?? :Q :Q Holy crap!! :Q :Q What kind of power does this CobraICE member have? It would probably take 500 fast CPU's running 24/7 to produce that kind of output.
>>

Cobra power and a few alpha servers do a lot of good.

I'm staying with S@NL we want to find those aliens. Who know we might have found some already. There are just like 2 billion returns on the shelfs at seti to check out. Anyone some time to spare to help them .

Greetings from The Netherlands.

All for the good of the project. Competition like this makes it more exciting for us, and better for the project itself.

hehe LOL!

Nice to see this thread gets lots of replies

I saw a question 'bout how we got Cobra into our team.
Well thats very simple. He wanted to run Seti. He's Dutch, we are the leading Dutch team, so he joined .

The fact that we helped hem to get his fleet going also helped
He just send us an email with some questions. I got it and replied and because my reply was very helpfull he joined our team. He's enjoying our forum and is coming to our S@NL BBQ in september as are lots of our members. And that's the little extra's we get for our members. We are also organising a Biketour, we had a gathering at our "queensday". So our team isn't just a virtual internet communitie, we're a real live group of people who see each other now and then.

Hello everyone!!
Here is another Dutch man..

Wy is everyone hoping that the RC5 key is founded?? Do you think that when that happens all the users from DPC will sit down and do nothing?? No, I don't think so, ofcourse they will all join Seti@Netherlands!!!! And ofcourse you know the potential of that Dutch team..
So for your sake, I hope the RC5 key will be secret for a little while..

But what ever happens, I wish you all much luck to accomplish your target.
Greetings from The Netherlands!

Come on.... get off yourself. SETI pulled in over 1/2 a million WUs in the last 24 hrs.

Yeah DPC SETI is just a little baby team ,I guess they don't have the stomach for a 'fight' on 2 fronts! heh

cpars
A 1.4 GHz T bird with SDR SDRAM will take about 5hrs ,probably a little less ,with DDR SDRAM you would be nearer 4hrs/WU .These are just estimates

Any T bird owners with hard figures?

CyGoR
Hi

Do you think that when that happens all the users from DPC will sit down and do nothing?? No, I don't think so, of course they will all join Seti@Netherlands!!

What makes you think they won't switch to the DPC SETI team they already have(linked above)? ,I'd bet (& hope) they will stay within DPC

Blackbiker
coming to our S@NL BBQ in september as are lots of our members

Now I'm jealous! ,that's something I'd like to do with TA members ,but being spread across the world makes things a little difficult!.I just love BBQ's btw

Office boy
Hurry up & visit us in the UK!,then perhaps we could have our own small gathering
