I get what Greta is trying to say, she will have a front row seat for the next 50 years to whatever Climate Change does to Planet Earth. Meanwhile all the old people will have died off so they don't really care. We're probably screwed if we expect the UN to do anything. Most countries are still fighting over oil.

PS: We had some good rain down here in Houston......again. Starting to worry a little.

How sad is that? To not care because if you're old you have the "who gives a f*k attitude." What about your children? Your grandchildren? How selfish is that?

It doesn't matter anyway IMO. We are doomed to kill ourselves. If you think recycling that can of coke is going to make a difference then do it. I don't think any of this is going to do much because most people are ignorant, and they won't change their lifestyle. Not until something MAJOR happens, but by then it will be too late.

She seems like a pawn being used by the adults in her life. Her speech was hysterics (no one stole her childhood wtf is that about). She’s definitely a driven individual, and has leadership qualities. So I guess the answer to the question is both.

Neither one. She's the child of anti-fa parents, so ahe's been raised with this kind of shit in her ears...and is being used to push their agenda.

Is she right? Perhaps...probably even, but as long as actually doing anything meaningful about the problem is seen as an attack on "god-given right to unlimited profits," and on the world (especially US) economy, nothing will be done.

Sounds like the ramblings of the fanatical right. Attack the messenger, conflate autism with insanity, speculate on who's "operating" her... Pretty much mention everything but a coherent rebuttal of what she's saying.

I'm arguing about her with people on a forestry forum. A fuckin' forum for tree work! If she does nothing else in her life, she did a good job. She got people talking about the problem; really talking about it, and some people may do some thinking for the first time in their worthless lives. I predict the world will be marginally better due to her efforts. More than you can say for a lot of people.

I vote for option 3: Here today, gone tomorrow puppet.

That level of shrill doesn't have much of a shelf-life. She's going to turn off her side even faster than she unites the righties against her. She's getting propped up to get some easy sound bites and column-inches for that agenda and she'll get kicked to the curb when people are tired of listening to her. That should happen in, ohhhh, about any second now.

Her statements after the fact denied knowledge of what the shirts were. I didn't know it was particularly antifa. Again, that's neither here nor there. It's a deflection from her argument. Here's another pic...

Oh No! She's an evil carpet muncher!!

Hopefully this book will be available in English. It's about her and her younger sister who suffer from depression, eating disorders, and anxiety attacks,
Asperger’s syndrome, high-functioning autism, and selective mutism.

Snowflake brainwashed by her parents, which is what "you have stolen... my childhood" really means, but I'm sure it benefited her to play the part. She could have been talking about which Taco Bell menu item is the best with equal showmanship.

She may have a future as an actress, but not a leader. As she gets older and learns more about the world as an adult, and as her peers who identify with her do too, they will become disillusioned, and have the freedom to live their own lives and become individuals instead of muppets.

Ever notice how it's easy to have high ideals when you don't support yourself and haven't lived the full adult life experience yet? That doesn't mean industry should keep polluting at current levels, but it does mean a 16 year old girl traveling around the world is a decidedly unqualified spokesperson for climate change.

If she decides to go to college to study climate change, good for her, as long as she leaves behind the cellphone and classes are held in a mud hut. Fortunately that will mean leaving behind her parents too, who are probably the real thorn in her side.

Her own brother has condemned her actions. Definetly no leader, but it is hard to talk to a child about global economics and politics.

To them it's just flip a light switch and magically make everything feasible and magically stop our oil dependency. She is probably too inept (like plenty grown adults even) to understand half the things she uses in life are derived from oil/gas. It's not just your transportation.

If she is what works to get things going so be it. I won't complain. Something tells me it won't though.

I'm for any kid that has this much passion about any positive subject. Good for her...she's more informed and smarter than most of the old men leading the world.

She's terrible, stupid, overly emotional, a front for sinister forces but maybe she has a couple of good qualities.

Her parents are antifa? You're an idiot.

Leader.
I know she is young and is getting propped from x y z directions by "adults".
She is 16, 16 is PLENTY old enough for a woman to have her own damn mind.

Female 16 ~ Male 18-19 years old, imo, in context of maturity.
These young people are stepping up all over the world right now. Rightfully so. Its their time we are ruining ... and not a shitty thing like the economy, no the friggin planet ffs. Of course they rise.
