Indeed? And the church hasn't been marking off anyone, especially Christians, who read Harry Potter as an infidel and a sinner and condemning them to hell? Does this makes the people stop reading Harry Potter? Maybe a minority, but not the majority. Maybe I should use this as a scapegoat to belittle Christianity and it's significance, and start blaming the west and Christians for every wrong thing that happens in my life? I think not. I am rationale enough to credit the west for the good things they have. I wouldn't give off-handed comments where ever I see something wrong, attributing it to the west. Don't think of me as being against Christians or Christianity. I study with them and like them a lot for their own persons. I also have a lot of respect for Christianity itself.
Women are often used as a scapegoat, just like I mentioned in the above case, to belittle Islam and it's values. Women are most respected in Islam. One just needs to read a little bit and have an open mind to understand that. I have personally interacted with western women (specifically in USA) who appreciate having only one man they love in their lives and do not want anyone else. If you consider that BS, well, you are living a deluded life. They live very happy and content lives. If you read something at one place and start uninformed parroting at every place you go to without researching it yourself, you are essentially spreading rumors and fibs for all I care. Uneducated people have that tendency to run off at the mouth whenever they can. Each issue has two sides. Considering only one side to make your judgement results in blunders.
Religion is just one aspect of any community/country. The traditions and culture have a huge impact on the way people practice and follow their religion. It often times, makes the interpretation of the religion itself skewed. Should we blame the religion for this? Saudi Arabia has very strong traditions of it's own which have greatly influenced the interpretation of Islam there. That doesn't means that Islam itself is a bad religion.
