Is it available anywhere else? After waiting in line for 2 hours, all I downloaded was a 1kb file entitled "groundcontrol1_2gsi.exe.FilePlanetCache"

You have to use internet explore to get it to download I believe. The downloader uses ActiveX.

This game was released when the market was being flooded with excellent RTS games. This is one of the many good RTS games lost in the crowded RTS world.

I did use IE, but for some reasons it's not working on my desktop. So, I just used my laptop to DL without a problem and transferred it over to my desktop.

http://www.fileplanet.com/betas/groundcontrol.aspx There's a link you can click when you first install it, but there's the direct link. You have to make sure you're logged in with your Gamespy/fileplanet ID to get the key.

No, no, aphex is right. This is the epitomy of a hot deal, and I'm not sure why you chose to thread crap on it.

Since GC2 just came out, I'm sure this is free to help promote the new game (which is getting great reviews, btw). The original is still fantastic, and definitely worth it for this price.

Only downside I can see is that Fileplanet provides a CDKey for multiplayer only. Obviously if you get it from one of our mirrors, you won't have a CD Key.

Got it, wasn't really impressed with it. Graphics weren't impressive and I just couldn't get a feel for the non-Warcraft genre RTS. Call me old-fashioned!
