Doin a group project and my group members procrastinate to much, the problem is their my friends grr. Today we were supposed to meet a 10am (its 2pm rite now) and weve had this planned for about a week. Just as i was leaving to meet them i call one and he says he cant make it...and the other dosent even pickup. It seems out of 4 of us only 2 of us are dedicated. Yea yeah people have lives but fck you if A. you miss or are late to every meeting, B. you havent done sh/t just yet, C. you cant keep promises. Never be in groups with your friends :-\

Being in a group with anyone sucks. They never do their share, and if it is group work for college they always show up drunk

*sigh* at least in the real world they should be sober when you have a meeting ... but I have a feeling they still won't do their fair share.:frown:

best group projects are the ones where you get to partially grade your group members. instead of ratting someone out to the teacher for not showing, you just give him/her an F.

If theres a choice and its not a presentation type project i always work alone, i get it all done faster and i can procrastinate as long as I want since i know i have the balls to get stuff done. grrr...
most people are worthless

Yeah, I am trying to do group projects for 3 of my 4 classes this semester. I find that it is easier just to do the whole damn thing by myself and give the rest copies. This way I know the work is quality. It is a shame it has to be this way, but I will not sacrifice making a 4.0 this semester so they can party and half - A$$ their way into a "C" while bragging that they did it all the night before. Anyway, thats life.

The problem is that after college you will almost always be working in groups if you're a software developer, so it's something you do need to learn. It is frustrating though, especially if there isn't a "group leader" appointed, or if it isn't you

For one group project we had mandatory rotating leadership to "give everyone a chance" but I appointed myself "shadow leader" and managed to get everyone to do enough work to get us the A.

At least in the real world people have the threat of losing their job to make them show up.

Nothing exciting. It was a group of 4 in my ill-named "Technical Writing" class. The team was me, my friend, and 2 others. One was a slacker, the other was diametrically opposed to the teacher in literary opinions. We ended up with a B+. The class basically had nothing to do with "Technical Writing". It was more about how to make presentations and brochures.

Reminds me what happened in my computer programming class... we had a group project, where we had to make a simulation. Me and 2 other guys were in a group (I didn't really have a choice, I HAD to be in a group). Turned out that I did ALL of the work, and the other two just freaking relaxed the entire time. A minute before our presentation I explained what the program does, and they PRESENTED IT!!!! But of course, only I knew the technical details.. I should've just embarrassed them... but I didn't.
