Honestly, I thought ol' beardo was talking about the apostrophe, which is just wrong in both places. It does bug me that many people add an "-'s" to any store name, but the reason is obvious: Many stores are not only named after a person, they are stated to be the person's place or property. "Joe's" can mean "Joe's Grocery" or "Joe's Corner Shop" or whatever. It's when people say "Wal-Mart's" or "K-Mart's" that I cringe, but I know it's just a relic of them assuming that any store name is a possessive. Also, when I go to a friend's house I usually say I am going to that friend's possessive name. If I'm going to Michael's house, I say that I am going to Michael's. Some people might say that they are "going to Pizza Hut's" for the same reason (the storefront belonging to Pizza Hut). I wouldn't.

the museum of science and industry in Chicago use to and may still do, have a huge model train setup, it was mesmerizing just watch all the trains go around the tracks.

trains, legos, papercraft, kid toys, etc... Grow the fuck up, grow a pair, grow some hair on said pair and reclaim your man card. The pussification of the american male is disgustingly visible in these retards. Perhaps I'm overeacting a little, what say you?

On my desk right now:
Ho Train that is running around the monitor stand
Lego recreation of my mine-craft fortress
A few toys from happy meals.
A papercraft companion cube
A papercraft dragon
An Xbox 360, PS3, Wii
A stuffed animal LLama made for me by an awesome person at Reddit.

I'm a grown man, about to get married, running my own successful business, and obviously happier and less worried about the world around me than a vile person like you. That is what being a man is about, doing what makes you happy, not what others dictate you should do.

because the plural of lego is legos.

Been said before in this thread, but no, the plural is not Legos. Lego is a brand, and they don't want people pluralizing it when referring to their toys. It is "Lego Bricks" or "Lego Pieces" or something similar (actually probably should be all capital LEGO). They need to do this in order to protect their trademark, or else it can turn out like Aspirin, Escalator, Pogo (the pogo stick), Zipper, and more which all used to be trademarks but due to people using the term for generic stuff for so long, now anyone can use them.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genericized_trademark

So if Lego wants to make sure that the likes of Mega Blocks can't use the word "Lego" on their branding they need to defend their trademark. And seeing as Lego makes some awesome toys, I'm willing to help them out in that regard

As far as I know Lego was the first to introduce interlocking plastic blocks, as such calling them LEGOs is completely legit. None of the online dictionaries offer a plural version of the word (because it's not a word) nor does LEGO itself seem to use the word to describe their own bricks, however enough people use it that it is completely acceptable.

I stepped on an interlocking plastic brick. <= stupid
I stepped on a LEGO. <= understandable
I stepped on two LEGOs. <= understandable
I stepped on two LEGO. <= also understandable

My girlfriends younger sister was a dating a guy who collected Lego. The guy was in his mid 20's. She dumped him after he invited her over to his house for the first time, and there was just tons of lego crap on his bedroom shelves. But yeah, fellas. Legos, Star Wars, LOTR, and all that other crap is birth control for women. If you want to get laid and taken seriously as an adult, get rid of that stuff or at least hide it when the girl comes over.

I love RC toys, slot cars and if i had an excuse to buy a lego set, damn straight i'd buy it and build something with it.
I also collect certain Transformers. I wouldnt mind having some GI joes but i'm not much of a toy collector, just a few here n there. Trains n such are pretty neat looking but too rich for my hobbies.

But this has nothing to do with being a man...OP must be a pup. No a real man takes care of his family, works for his money without complaint, Tries to do the right thing, Takes responsibility and focus on obligations. Hobbies are just hobbies.
If you think you have to wrestle bears or go hunting to be a man then your arrogant. Probably the type that likes to beat women, chester kids n such.

Real men do what they want and could care less what other people think and do what they like. If you are so obsessed about avoiding looking wimpy then you're not a real man.

You still live at home? either way that's a good example of a 'REAL MAN' no so much one.

No, I don't live with my parents.

Not all of us have to flood the board with thinly veiled brag threads to prove that we don't live in our mother's basement.

I really am not trying to brag here. I posted all my fail times that I was broke.

I am not a 1 percenter, just sharing my story and happy to be able to do so.

It's angry men like you that ruin our society.

Try to be less angry, find the things in life you can control rather than chasing those you can't.

I think you can do it.
