Well to be honest it doesn't sound like she was oblivious, she seemed quite able to pinpoint the time of the accident. Haha, forgot to integrate the part about the other person's car being PARKED, hit and run, that's a shame.

Pharmacy pays pretty well, you'll be OK. The other person--not so good!

Alot of painting will need to be done on your car. they will ahve to blend the rear door and possibly the hood since your fender has damage. your door, with the dent, (hard to see how bad it is) may need a new outer skin instead of trying to left the dent. Depending on the labor rate where you live, i'd say 2-3k. down time is about 7-10 days for paint drying and labor.

i was in my friends car on the high way (as a passanger) and someone decided to try and switch into our lane without looking....quickly...so he had to swerve a bit towards the left (and there was another person there) so he had to try and not get hit by the guy on the right and try not to hit the guy on the left while stabbing the brakes......there was so much swerving involved i didn't think we hit either one but we pulled over along with the person that was on our left side.....and noticed that something on our car slightly scratched their car some .....but we didn't feel it at the time....

in that situation i can understand but in a parkinglot or something......id think you'd be able to notice it but eh

Ack! $2-3K!

The hood and fender are not damaged. The quarter panel is scuffed but no dents. It just feels like the paint got sanded off. The main thing is the door and the door handle. The handle works fine but its smashed up and sticking out. The door looks like it has one of those creases on the new TL. Its sunken in pretty good.

Actually, I think by rubbing their fingers over the salty/dirty surface, more damage was done to the paint.

By the pictures u have, the fender was hit unfortunately. since the panels that were hit, especially the right front door, the whole thing needs to be painted and blended with the rear door and the fender. depending on the damage of the fender, you may need to touch the hood also. if blends are not done, the paint will be mismatched and your car will look funny. the fenders are the side panels in the front above the wheels. the quarter panels are the side panels above the rear wheels.

Yup, it will cause rust to form faster than normal.

wow...is this a hit and run?

sounds like it. sounds like crime.
It is not hit & run if the his wife call the police & reported the accident when they find that they have damage there car. And, it could be her that is the victim of a hit & run....it could be some one that hit her at a parking lot & she didn't notice the damage till she is home.

What good is it to get mad at your wife when the damage is already done?
I'm sure that she is feeling horrible as it is.....there isn't a point to make her feeling worst.

you have a point. i was under the impression that she had hit the parked car (as doggiedog stated in his initial post) but if she in fact didnt do that then of course shes the victim.

There are a lot of snow mounds around here after the recent snow storms. What I think happened was the side streets got narrowed by the mounds. Some guy came driving down the street and did not yield way by pulling over to the side. When my wife did, she apparently hit some parked car but she didn't notice because there are these snow mounds and she thought she just scraped one.

She has no idea what she hit.
