Grrr, there are only 3 handguns chambered in 10mm that are legal for sale in CA....

I have been researching different rounds lately...

Maybe they banned it because it goes through more stuff like walls to accidentally kill people when you're trying to self-defend? I dunno

There are guns chambered in 10mm that are legal for sale in CA. The trouble is, the state makes the manufacturers submit guns for testing and approval at a cost to the manufacturer for every model they want to sell here. It's just ridiculous. A Glock 20 is no more lethal or prone to accidental discharge than any other 10mm semi-automatic handgun.

Keep voting democrat.

Arnold is a democrat?

Yes. He's just not honest enough to admit it. RINO at best.

He was running for office in California. Admitting to be a Republican HURTS him. So if he's actually a democrat pretending to be a Republican, is he just stupid, or self-loathing, or what?

Shot 'em both, they're wunnerful.

Or were you talkin' about the sissified 10, the 40 S&W?

I'd love to pick up a Colt Delta Elite.

No, I'm not talking about the .40 S&W.

I have a First Edition Stainless Delta Elite. I traded another (blue) Delta Elite that jammed a lot and had all the little thingys (like the grip medallions) fall off. Colt, by way of my gun shop, gave me a credit and a discount towards the Stainless (which is Perfect, so far, and I'm liking it a lot with Hogue combat grips)

I have Bren too, I like it but it's harder to get parts, mags, etc.

As for penetration / over-penetration, Glaser Safety slugs are in the top couple positions (then Black Talons, then Silvertips ...)

Other than while hunting, why would you want to shoot a handgun at a distance where drop is a serious issue? I am a decent shot, but there's no way I could reliably hit a target from those kinds of distances with a pistol.

I just like interesting guns. And this one intrugues me. Hell, I don't hunt with my .44 Magnum but I'll never sell it either...it's extremely accurate for target shooting and it makes a loud BOOM!!!

I'll have to go shoot a few and see if I like it though. It just annoyed me that there are only 3 different guns that are legal for sale in CA.

Arnold voted to ban the .50 in California and he is a Republican.

arnold is very gun unfriendly and barely republican.

CA is backwards on gun laws, the majority of the US is shall issue CCW now, the big cities in particular (SF/LA/SD) make getting a license basically impossible unless you are famous, a politician, etc. This and other things are making me think about move.

I may complain about it but I'm definitely not moving.

Well I see 10mm handguns walking around all the time shooting people, quite terrible really. Why can't act nice like their 9mm cousins?

OP, the only way you're going to change this is to either tell your state representatives that the laws need to be relaxed/amended, or get rid of them the next election and vote in someone more gun friendly. IMHO, California has some of the dumbest gun laws imaginable (and yes, I have lived in CA, and know what it's like......and am glad I don't live there any more, for this and many other reasons).

BTW, is there any reason why you're leaning toward 10mm versus, say, .45?? Or even .40???

Honestly, the only reason you guys suffer with laws like this is because of the morons you put in office, that seem to be owned by the anti-gun types. And until the people in CA that aren't the ultra-left tree-hugging types stand up and speak out, and tell the politicos to knock it off, you're going to continue to suffer.

Trouble is the way the districts are drawn and the power the liberal areas like Los Angeles and San Francisco have.

It doesn't matter who I vote for. Guns just aren't ever going to be politically accepted by the majority in this state. Besides, in many ways I am a tree-hugger...but I'm not a liberal.

I already have 2 .45s and the .40 doesn't really appeal to me. As I said earlier in the thread, I just like interesting guns. And this one intrigues me.

I wouldn't mind another .45 and I may just get a Glock 21 or a really nice 1911 like one of the Wilson Combat pistols.

A friend of mine has a Glock 21 and I've shot it a number of times and I like it very much. I'm not much of a Sig guy, if I was going to drop $800 on a .45 I'd just save for a Wilson.

Didn't read through all the threads, so I apologize if this has already been mentioned.

Not sure if it's legal in CA, but Colt has reintroduced the 10mm Delta Elite. You can read about it in this thread.

Good news...the DELTA ELITE IS BACK!!

It's a slightly "improved" version over the standard 1911 design, but personally, I'm more fond of the older, more traditional version.

10mm is supposed to perform like a hot .45. which was ruger's answer, when asked about making a 10mm pistol. they had a model all ready for production i think, but ended up making them .45. the specs required for the 10mm were so stringent due to the charge used and such, they exceeded the big charge 45. he suggested that as an alternative. for some reason, i just read an old article on that last week. kind of weird how those things work out.
