My point is with the gtx570 comming down to 315$ AR and a 250$ gtx560 ~ = to a 6970 @ 1080p when overclocked, the 6970 needs a price cut now. This I think we can all agree upon.
Maybe AMD could cut the price and then for certain people who don't want a price cut, they can give them the option to pay more. While the comparison between a stock HD6970 and an overclocked GTX 560 does seem unfair, if several NV's AIBs deliver $279 1000mhz GTX560s, then GTX570/580 and HD6950/70 will all have become completely overpriced for anyone gaming on 1920x1200 or below & using a single monitor.
If you look it at from a perspective of what the consumer will be able to get out of the box with 'factory preoverclocked' settings, there is nothing that touches the 1000 mhz GTX560. We are talking about a card with performance eclipsing GTX480, a card which cost nearly $500 less than 12 months ago. That is impressive from a performance/dollar perspective.
Wow lot of upset people when a Nvidia card is featured winning ?
Many of the same people defend the Steam survey AMD wins threads and the gtx 580 being paper launched, its useful information for some
Not surprising, I noticed there are some still in denial that the gtx 460 ftw was a retail card.

Way to miss the point that was stated quite clearly in a bunch of posts. I own two EVGA 580s superclocked, want a photo?
Some of us care that faulty reasoning is being employed to try to cast a card in a positive light - that's it. Plenty of the Nvidia-friendly posts seem to highlight Nvidia cards and overclocking while failing to realize that AMD cards also overclock. Is that news to you, or something?

Sorry, but I see much worse information being shoveled based on unrealistic prices. People are in denial representing one off massive rebate deals as what a video card costs.Way to miss the point that was stated quite clearly in a bunch of posts. I own two EVGA 580s superclocked, want a photo?

While I agree to some extent with what you said here. $280 is dangerously close to the price of dual 6850s/460s.
Actually, you can get 2 6850s for $280 if you know where to look.

New today, the GeForce GTX 560 Ti is the graphics card you’ve been asking for. Not only does it have 384 CUDA cores, but we’ve juiced the graphics clocks up to 822MHz and improved power efficiency. The GTX 560 Ti delivers 33% better performance and 21% better performance / watt compared to the GTX 460. It runs just as cool and quiet and is still an overclocker’s dream.
You should read your own posts, you sound like a used car salesman lately, quoting a different 'new low price' every time I look for the 6850. Why don't you follow your own advice you spoon out, and go and buy one ?
Good point. I meant in regard to the higher priced single cards though.

It's pretty much a no brainer than the GTX560 is the better buy for 1680x1050.
For one, NV just performs better at lower resolutions than comparable AMD cards. AMD starts to do better the higher the resolution.
That's also one of the reasons why the first piece of information (or question) in an advice thread should be/often is "What resolution will you play at?".
