Then why hasn't Microsoft proved this ever? There has been plenty of opportunity. Yet a Sony game on PS3 outclasses anything I have seen on the 360.

You are clouded by all sorts of bias. The Last of Us has zombies and a great story probably better writing than anything on Xbox 360.

That being said, I believe Halo 4 is technically superior in terms of graphics. Just talking the math here, which engine is pushing more poly's with better textures and fx, resolutions, framerates etc... I believe Halo 4 would win that match against anything on PS3.


Art direction is another story.

Halo 4 looked alright, but it's not even close. Forza 4 looks better than Halo 4. The overuse of FXAA to hide the jaggies on everything made it blurry as hell.

Halo isn't that impressive looking. Most of the textures are bland, models are simple. It's never been a good looking game, and the gameplay is pretty stupid to boot.

Gta4 was a low point. I think you will be surprised with gta5

I agree. Most of my friends are going to pick this title up too, so we will have some fun. I really hope they let you play golf online with some friends, because that would be a nice way to take a break from causing mayhem and destruction.

And why are we arguing about Halo 4 and The Last of Us in a GTA thread? Fanboys need to take that crap to the correct threads, we already have at least 4 console war dick measuring threads on the front page.

I can't believe all the dislike for GTA IV in this thread. GTA IV was phenomenal. Sure, it wasn't nearly as epic as San Andreas, but I like that it eschewed all the completely absurd things (jetpacks and aliens?) and went (slightly) more realistic. GTA was in danger of going full CoD, upping the ante so much each game that it becomes utterly stupid and laughable, and the developers wisely backed off a bit. I'm all for a bit of the absurd, don't get me wrong, but I don't want GTA: Saint's Row. I want my absurdity grounded in reality and good storytelling, thank you very much.

I still can't bring myself to believe it will look and run this good on a console...I know they say it's real PS3 gameplay, but it just seems fishy.

Also, what's with the weird woman voice over? It was really odd.

I hope it doesn't suffer from the past few with ridiculous/stupid storylines and tons of content that just isn't worth the time, like playing mini games and dating. Though fixing the car mechanics would be one great improvement.

Yeah there is no way at this point to know if the world is as big as they say or if it has artificial borders and just a long distance view. Stuff like that.

I know they have said the world is bigger than GTA:SA, GTA:IV, and Red Dead Redemption combined. So I would expect it to be huge.

Explain please. I'm serious, I don't get it. You just do missions and follow a story in GTA4, in SR3 you can do everything you can do in GTA plus more. There's no way GTA can actually be more fun, since SR3 lets you do more. It's just not possible.

While I agree that SR3 is a better game than GTA4, your argument is very flawed. Just because SR3 has more "stuff" in it, doesn't by any means make it more "fun".

In terms of the "open-world city" genre, my favorite game is actually Sleeping Dogs. In order it would probably be Sleeping Dogs > Saints Row 3 > Saints Row 2 > Any GTA that's not 4 > GTA 4.
