Why does everyone HAVE to compare IV's driving to V. Neither are particularly realistic, In IV your basically driving on ice all the time. In V your driving on glue.
Just relax people and enjoy the game. if one isn't for you play the other and don't worry about how the other handles.

Two months in, and I have to say, this is one of the best singleplayer games I have ever played, bar none. And, literally, without reservation, the worst multiplayer game I've ever played. There is not one single redeeming factor I've found in GTA 5's multiplayer. It's like Godfather 2 releasing a directors cut where you watch Fredo spend 3 hours on the toilet and die of a heart attack. I'd rather get eaten to death by gerbils than spend another second in this game's multiplayer mode. I hate it more than I hate Nazis. I'd rather watch 35 seasons of Dads. $500,000 isn't enough to stay with this game if they gave you real money. I hate the online portion of this game more than I've hated any game ever. This game SUCKS. It's a war crime. I hate the people who designed it. I hate the people who are friends with the people who designed it. Everything about it should be launched into space, blown up, fetched from space, launched into space again and set on fire. I hate it so much I vomited in my mouth 8 times writing the last few sentences. This game's mutliplayer needs to be shouted from the rooftops for decades , so that game designers are reminded what not to do.

This game's multiplayer is cancer. It is the worst thing in gaming history, and it should die a quick death and never be mentioned again for the good of the industry.

Best post I've read in a long time. My favorite among the gems is 35 seasons of Dads.

I have to say the game is really getting frustrating for me online because the amount of DOWNtime.

I hate spending so much time waiting in lobbies, waiting for people to accept job invites, or, worse, just getting completely derailed by other players so that after an hour of playing, I have accomplished little, and possibly even lost money. And twice in the last week the game has completely frozen my 360, to where nothing would respond, and I had to hard reboot it.

Finally got around to playing GTA 5. Amazing game so far. It made what was good from GTA 4 even better. The cops tend to be a bit peskier than previously, but having a blast with it. I will say, the Trevor storyline (just opened that up, just bought the first airfield) isn't my fav, but I'm sure it all intertwines with Franklin/Michael.

The game's been working pretty fine since I bought it, apart from some serious texture pop-ins that sometimes even make the floor disappear.

It always happens whenever I start up the game, and at worst it lasts over a minute. Apart from that though, I haven't really had any major bugs.

I assume you installed both discs? I avoided installing the second disc as I read the pop-ins happen when both discs are installed. I havent had any pop-in issues.

i think im done with GTA Online. I played a couple days ago, during free ROam one of the players ended up with a bail of like 197,000,000 on them. it was ridiculous amount. everybody in free roam was making a bee line for him but he ended up getting away.

how does anybody even get that much money? it has to be through cheating right?

and here I am, never having cheated, im like level 51 and I have $98k in the bank. im never gonna have enough to buy a supercar. and even if I do? whats the point, just to drive around the city in a supercar and show off to a bunch of stanger kids who I dont even know? its so stupid and such a waste of time if you are an adult with any semblance of a life. and the amount of down time... when I sit down to play a game, I have like an hour. well,in GTA, 10 minutes of that gets eaten away form the ridiculous startup load time, then I go to quick join a match, 50% of the time SOMETHING goes wrong that prevents me from actually getting in a match. either the whole thing just times out, or nobody joins the match, or I get kicked from the lobby (for what reason is beyond me, i dont even have a mic plugged in)

it's just a huge huge huge waste of time imo

I don't know if I've made myself clear on this yet, so I'll reiterate; GTA Online is the single worst game in the history of videogames. GTA V is one of the best games of all time, don't get me wrong. I consider them as separate entities, because the developers released the as separate entities, and it's good they did. There has never been a worse videogame than GTA Online. Never. Period. Custer's Revenge? Better than GTA Online. ET on the Atari 2600? Better than GTA Online. It's the worst game in videogame history, full stop. I would rather videogames NEVER EXIST than play GTA Online again. It's that bad. I would rather live in a world with no Mario than a world where GTA Online is a thing.

It took my hopes and dreams and my heart and soul and it ripped them from my chest and threw them on the ground and stomped on them and lit them on fire and shot them and blew them up and collected the ashes and force fed them to a turkey (the most inferior of all poultry), beat that turkey to death, lit it on fire, collected those ashes in a bag and beat my grandmother to death with it, took her corpse and blasted it into the sun, and then took out an ad in the local paper calling her a terrorist for no reason other than to be a giant turd sandwich because GTA Online is literally the worst thing to happen in the history of the ENTIRE UNIVERSE. LITERALLY.

It's not very fun, is what I'm getting at.

It's fine sparsed in with other characters, but since that's all I've been exposed to so far it's a little grating.

Later on other characters interact with Lamar and it isn't as bad.

I skipped all of the cutscenes, and still do with every character, but driving around with Lamar early on was exhausting because I had to listen to their "banter". I'm fine with any sort of language, but the way it's being put into every sentence by Rockstar is just annoying.

Luckily not far from now you get to choose who to play as selectively for the most part. For many of the missions you can start it as either character. The nice part about it is there is no wrong way.

Yeah only difference is each character will have a unique entry scene or dialog when starting the mission.

I bought this game after xmas since no one paid attention to my xmas list this year. Anyway, after barely playing it proceeded to murder my launch 360 console by giving it the RROD. Granted, I've had this console repaired four times including once by Microsoft when they were sending out the "coffins". This is the last straw, so to the junk heap it goes.

In the meantime I'm using a friend's 360 to go ahead and play the game. His is a launch console, too, and the only way to open the disc drive is with a paper clip.

is there a way to play GTA online without 20-50 random shitheads running around the city fucking with you? Like, can you join a 'private' instance of the city with a group of 5 friends, and not get griefed/trolled/camped, and be free to do what you want?

I was on it for a while yesterday, some dicknose followed me for a good 10 minutes trying to throw sticky dynamite on my car. wtf

It's because Microsoft's GPU is a decent step below the one Sony chose. Well, it's that, PLUS the fact that Microsoft's letting the Kinect eat up an alleged 10% of the GPU. So, the Xbox One is working with a GPU a step behind the competition, and it's only able to use 90% of it. Microsoft says they're going to use updates to get that GPU footprint way down, but we don't know when/if that will actually happen.

They also say that familiarity with the eSRAM will lead to development improvements to help catch up to the PS4 some, but we also don't know when that will start to kick in, or if developers will care enough to do things right when they can just lower the resolution or FPS like they have so far.

Microsoft's not screwed, but they weren't very smart with this. If they were going to eat up the GPU with the Kinect, then going with an underpowered GPU was really stupid.
