I finally beat it with like 1/4 tank of gas left.. the trick is to go for the 2 furthest couriers first but damnn!! wtf was rockstar thinking??

On XBox, any mission that requires drive-by shooting is really, really hard thanks to the crappy controls.

yeah that mission was pissing me off. i figured out to get off the fork truck quickly and help out ol' ryder but then i load the truck and head off and the damn guard and cops kept chasing me and wiped me out. i was too tired and just quit for the nite.

i pretty much suck at missions but i should get that one done tonight anyway.

You can always stack the boxes up before you open the gate and trigger all the guards, makes it a lot easier.

I just wish that when you fail a mission you can just click retry instead of having to go through all the damn process of getting you to the right place

There are several that have had me cursing as I fail for the 4th or 5th time, but eventually I'm getting by them. So far the hardest that I've beaten are the RC plan in San Fierro and some of the driving and flight training.

However, the absolute hardest thing in the game, and one that I'd like to slap each and every member of the GTA dev team for, is the Blood Ring in San Fierro stadium.

20 cars in a large bowl all trying to reach the same checkpoint
Enemy cars that aim for you instead of the checkpoint
Enemy cars that respawn after blowing up
Enemies that always seem to wait until you're right next to the checkpoint before grabbing it themselves
Checkpoints that spawn directly behind you

I try to avoid hint books and FAQs unless I'm completely stumped by a game. For this mission I had to find out if I'm just a moron or what. The only FAQs I've found on this mission is that you have to get lucky. Skill won't help you. Great.

Yep, it's pretty much luck, although I do have one tip.

At the very beginning, don't move, let all the other cars get in the middle and crash into each other, and then go around the outside and hope that the red markers will spawn in front of you. I ended up extremely lucky on that one, and all the red markers spawned in front of me as I was driving on the outside.

I think the worst thing about the RC plane mission are the controls. Honestly, I couldn't fly that plane very much with the keyboard, everything was too sensitive. What I ended up doing was barely flying at all, merely rolling along the ground or slightly flying at slow speeds, and that made the mission a lot easier for me.

Anyone stuck on a mission/race/etc can send me their save file and I'll beat what you specify? (What do you think?)

Don't ask for Gold in schools yet though, I don't have THAT kind of patience yet.

I do run out and try to help Ryder, but homeboy doesn't seem to know enough to take cover.

Fancy beating the RC Airplane mission for me? Man, thats just toooooooo hard.

Im going back for my 17th attempt now.

Woo hoo. Beat the RC plane mission on the 2nd try. There are no real tricks, just try to learn how to fly it best you can. I must have gotten incredibly lucky. I finally got Gold in all the driving school missions as well. Patience is the key.

Oh great! I finished the PS2 ver without the RC mission and now I have the PC version. Hopefully I can mod it to bypass that damned RC plane mission.

yeah, after doing rc plane mission and flying a bit after that once you get the abandoned airstrip, i just switched off mouse flying, its soo much easier using the keyboard

as for hardest mission, the RC plane one is easy if you just roll along the ground most of the time, the targets you have to blow up drive REAL slow. I find the hardest bloody thing to do is the driver test where you have to do a barrel roll and land perfectly with the car. I just don't get how you're meant to do it. I got lucky once and got 75% and passed, but i wanna get 100% to get the bonus cars
Also in driving school doing the 2 wheels thing. I always get damage either from going up the ramp or scraping the side of the char. It took me ages just to get the 2 wheels thing working, then I got 100% heading, 100% position, and 1% damage !!!!!!!!!! gah this is so frustrating

I'm not really far yet, but the most challenging one so far was the 'robbing uncle sam' mission. It took me FOREVER. When I finally found out how to do it it was easy...but it took a while

For anyone doing the first RC mission and successfully failing every time, play through it and dont give up.

Once that is over and done with, there are some absolutely awesome missions after it.

I'm currently trying to get past the trucking missions, and number 7 is pissing me off. After numerous attempts I can't get the truck over to Venturas with a wanted level of 4 stars. The SWAT vans easily push the rig around and jacknife the truck so that I lose the trailer. It's then nearly impossible to reattach the trailer with two or three police Ranchers smashing into me, and either the cab blows up or I run out of time.
